I haven't been around online much today cause we started paining our house yesterday after church.  I'm on vacation for a couple of weeks.  ahhh fun!

here it is before the paint...

Now starting on the new color, it's the stuff to the right.

The clouds went away today, and wow.. it was warm.  Almost done with the body of the house I'll post pics when I'm done.

Woo hoo!

We're in the process of doing the same thing. ;) Lot's of work! Are you going with a shade darker? We're changing colors completely. Dave has been replacing trim and it looks like we'll need a new roof. We're looking into simulated cedar shake shingles... since it's against code to use the actual thing.

Is anyone helping you paint?

The sunlight pics (posting soon) show the color better.  We went with a chocolate brown trim, white, instead of green around the windows and the body of the house is a little darker shade.  Andrew did the roof work on the peaks for me, Amy and I have been doing the bulk of it.  Catherine helped out today along with our friend Diana and a friend of mine named Don.  We have another day or so of work and it should be done!  We way overbought the paint... eeek, and it was custom so we can't take it back.  Oh well.  Maybe the church or a neighbor can use it.

I got to paint the $3000 corner today.  It was kind of fun to make the whole house look the same again.  We really like our new roof, it looks rather handsome with the new paint!

Oh man. Painting an entire house takes a lot of hard work. I really don't enjoy it very much but I sure am careful and somewhat anal when it comes to painting. It has to be done correctly.  ;)

Has anyone heard of or thrown painting parties? I know one lady who threw one. She invited a whole bunch of her friends over for food and drinks and, of course, painting! They all painted the inside of the house in one day. I'd never heard of anyone doing this before but it worked for her. I thought that was smart and cool.

Yes, I have been involved in several of those parties!  I didn't really tell anyone I was doing this as I am on vacation, but our house isn't that big, so Amy and I and the kids can handle it.  In fact I  think we are going to be done by tomorrow evening.  YES!  That means more vacation time!

Looking good Rick.  I actually enjoy painting - inside and out.  The only thing I lack is much time to do it.  Spent most of the weekends a couple summers back painting ours.  Keep at it Rick!

Is that the rental house or is your old home fixed?

He's back in his own home... Right Rick?

Yep, this is our house now, and man is it nice compared to what it was.  New roof, new sheetrock, new carpet and now  NEW PAINT!  Sweet!

Sounds like everything but the kitchen sink. I suggest that next!

Wow, this is similar to what we've been doing.  Just more years are involved >.<.  Its hard work.  I could never do the roof because i have a pretty morbid fear of heights.  :(

Very cool!
