SEASON EIGHT OUTLINE:

Two Prologue Posts
Used to contrast the chaos that will soon occur on Arabella (regular universe or RegUni). Takes place a 30 min before Quinn's disappearance:

1. Scene in sickbay. D'Callan is recovering from his injuries suffered on Ter'Oss. Learns something interesting from Theran. Ryla gives him a pep talk.

2. Ryla goes to the Afterburner.

ACT I.
Recap of last post of Season Seven from Quinn's perspective:

A. Quinn disappears from the bridge of the Arabella.

-Bridge Officers immediately report his disappearance to Commander Sevryll, who is traveling back to Arabella in one of two runnabouts that are returning from Ter'Oss. FYI Arabella is still orbiting Ter'Oss. Zremm should probably be the one to contact her. She beams directly to the bridge as the shuttle is in route...shields must be dropped.

-A Regular Universe Borg Sphere soon draws near the Arabella to investigate a distress call which bled through the rift that leads to the Mirror Universe, at the moment Quinn disappeared.

-The voices Quinn heard, while on the surface of Ter'Oss, were Mirror Borg voices. They were probing the regular universe in search of our Quinn, possibly via Zremms' transporter enhancing probes. Might be good if Quinn hears them when he shows up on the Cube... maybe this is when he realizes the voices he heard on Ter'Oss were Borg.

B. Quinn reappears in the Mirror Universe, aboard a Borg Cube, in the midst of a four way battle between the Empire, the Alliance, the Resistance and the Borg.

-Quinn does not initially know what happened. He thinks he's still in his own  universe. Quinn sees Mirror Borg Arabella and Tiberius Crewmen and realizes something is off.

-The Collective lost Mirror Borg Quinn to the Empire, and need our Quinn to enhance the unity of the hive, via his telepathic powers. His ability will sharpen their voice and allow them to roll over the holdouts in the Mirror Universe.

-Quinn meets the Borg King and is told he will be assimilated into the Collective. He is kidnapped before this happens by the Empire.

ACT II
-During the battle, Quinn is taken aboard the Empire's flag ship, Tiberius.  They are taking drones for experiments in order to learn how to reprogram them for the Empire's purposes. Quinn was intended to be one of many of Doctor Margon's Borg guinea pigs.  Again, some Borg guinea pigs, may be recognizable to Quinn (people who have died in his universe). Many die at Margon's hands. Quinn is looked after by Mirror Rhys Peters.

C. Within the Regular Universe, Arabella is engaged by a Regular Universe Borg Sphere while orbiting Ter'Oss.

-The ship sustains damage, and several are injured during the battle.

The ship is invaded by regular universe drones. Several crew and passengers are taken back to the Borg Sphere.

The crew must repel the invaders and defend Ter'Oss. The sphere cannot be destroyed or defeated.

ACT III

D. The Alliance attacks the Mirror Tiberius, and during the battle The Cooperative, another Borg Faction, slips in and steals Borg Quinn from the Empire. They want Quinn's telepathic powers to add to their gene pool. The REAL Aria runs the Cooperative. Not the cloned Aria that exists in our Universe, but the one who was thought to have 'ceased to exist' because of a temporal rift in our Universe. She was actually brought to the Mirror Universe years before. She's slightly off her rocker because of the years she's spent there, but is still concerned for her family, which is why she remained there to oppose the Mirror Borg. The Mirror Borg were threatening to spread into the regular Universe and take over. Aria learns Quinn's relationship to her real parents and sends him back with Mirror Spring as a show of good will.

Who's Who So Far
Mirror David Locke--Emperor
The real Aria James--Cooperative Queen
Mirror Margon--Evil Doctor working on Tiberius for the Empire
Mirror Quinn--Dead.
Mirror Sevryll--Spy for the Alliance, concubine to the Emperor.
Mirror Peters--On the run.

The Shadowfax and Courage of Tiberius, two runnabouts that were sent on a mission to Ter'Oss last season, are in route to the Arabella. Don't forget to land them in the shuttle bay.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND FOR THIS SEASON

Play your regular universe characters (from now on referred to as The RegUni), until the faction your Mirror character belongs to, appears in the story. This should minimize the confusion of who's who. There much to do on the RegUni Arabella, for the RegUni Borg are going to be beaming over. Our characters will need to defend Ter'Oss and the ship.

Many NPCS and regular characters, who are no longer written for by writers who have dropped out of the game, are going to be offed or taken by the RegUni Borg in this Season. See the MIA Section if you want to have your character witness someone go down. Try not to give speaking lines to that character, as this will be a audio drama next, and its easier to find actors when there aren't a million small parts to fill. If something happens to them, have them scream or just describe their actions.

Try not to "off-road" the story too much with side stories. If your side stories tie into the main plot, that's cool... but if not, save them for another season or for your backstories that are posted in your characters' profiles. This Season will be action packed and we don't want to slow it down with anything that will distract from the main plot.

Try to do a little "intro to your character" scene. Write one per character,  in the post where said character enters the season. See the first and second post of Season Eight, introducing Joseph D'Callan and Ryla Drett, for an example. Not everyone who reads this season will know everything about the people you write for. So give them an overview of who your person is, what they're all about and then tie that into the story some how.

-Please Email each other when collaborating, rather than PMing. Check the forum member's profile for an email address if you don't know it, or PM them and ask for one they check regularly. Try to check your email in-boxes regularly to stay on top of posts that are being worked on by the group you are collaborating with.

-Try to sit down and write a little outline of what you want to happen to your RegUni character during the course of the story. If it's super crazy, PM Kenny or I to make sure it won't overshadow the story. Jot down any changes you want your character to go through. Maybe the change is a realization, a change in character, a change of heart, maybe they develop a grudge against another crewman or officer, maybe they develop a new goal in life or maybe they're changed physically... how will that effect them in the future seasons mentally or physically?  Decide in which Act these things will happen and work your way toward that end. You can do the same for your Mirror Characters.  Write about what happened in this season that cause these things to happen...work them into our main story.

-Describe the scenes that are happening around you. Describe the thoughts your character has locked up in his mind. What is he feeling?

-Try to describe the universe you are writing in, to help people distinguish RegUni from Mirror Universe. This format has the potential of being confusing, so be thoughtful in how you write which person you're playing into the story. For example, I may say something like, "Sevryll swayed her hips more than what was natural, knowing the Emperor was watching her leave. She offered a lingering glance over her shoulder, to drive her suggestion home then tucked a stray lock of her short raven hair behind her ear and sauntered out the door." RegUni Sevryll has long hair and she NEVER act like this in our universe. In addition to this, at the top of each of your posts, say which Universe you are in...but don't rely on this solely. Again, this is eventually going to be an audio drama, and it wouldn't work well to introduce the scenes with the titles "Regular universe" and "Mirror Universe".

-If you can't write often, consider collaborating, or playing one of your lesser characters. If you have to take a week off, ask someone to write your character for you, or write them into a scenario where you can essentially "park them" until you can return to the story.

-The story will last about three months. Our goal is to make each scene three weeks long, give or take a week. Really, it depends on the pacing of the story. So if you possible, post as often as you can. Once per day, per character... max.

-Listen to the Ready Room podcast. We will be updating you on the story by reading the posts written for each week. We may ask those who have recording equipment to read their own posts and send the files to us to put into the Ready Room.

PM Kenny and I with your questions, or if you need help deciding what you to do with your characters. We are happy to brainstorm with you. :)

I'm posting a large compilation of the first five posts in one giant post... tonight. These posts are integral to the story and we wanted them to lay the ground work for the rest of the season, so we put them all together. Rest assured, there won't be any quiet this long ever again... at least in season 8.  Stay tuned. ;)

Correct, they're apart of the "Cooperative" the other Borg faction in the Mirror Universe.
