It's interesting seeing David Morrisey at 2/1 given his appearance in the upcoming chistmas special - 'The Next Doctor'.

There's a short article and picture in this weeks' Radio Times stating that Children in Need will be showing the first two minutes of that - it looks like they may have catered for CiN diretly in the christmas special shoot.

So Morrisey for the Next Doctor. Too obvious or a double blind?

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Too obvious, though he world make a great Dr (apart from being in Basic Instinct 2 boo!  ). I'm still hoping for a darker, brooding actor.

WOW.. that as pretty sweet... not a clue what's going on.. but very cool.. a little over a month to go.

Its very, very similar to the plot of the Big Finish audio adventure 'The One Doctor' Of course i'm not saying thats going to be the exact story.
I think judging by how David Morrissey is playing the part he won't be the new Doctor.

Feathers

I agree - I looked at that and my instant thought was that whatever else was going to happen, the wasn't going to be the real next Doctor.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Did anyone else notice that his sonic scewdriver was an actual screwdriver

I would say that his screwdriver is a dead give away.

I was talking about they fact that Meds said "it's very very similar to the plot of the big finish audio adventure The One Doctor" .. and I asked who can you tell from this two minute clip. I didn't get anything about the plot of the episode excpet there seems to be two doctors.

Well for me the Morrissey Doctor is pretending to be more like Tennants Doctor, eg the wink and the stand back together. Too similar in their characteristics plus as well his theatrical OTT English accent. Also he didn't recognize the 10th Doctor or the Cybermen head.
I mention The One Doctor simply because i'd already heard about the similarities about two weeks ago. Of course nothing can be certain and the audio book is quite a simple affair but enjoyable. I'm not jumping to a serious conclusion.

Check this out for the one doctor story details.

I'm excited about this episode (its being played again on BBC 1 now) its has a nice Christmas feel about it and i love England in 1851 ( bit dull) and yeah it is a screwdriver.

Meds

Hmm i like your screwdriver.

I think that the first two minutes are shot beautifully and the costumes look gorgeous.  December is too far away...

Nice theory on The Tin Dog podcast today. He mentioned that everything looked too clean to be Victorian England, and that this culd almosty be a Dr theme park. Nice idea.

Great news yesterday. It was announced that 9 lost episodes form classic Dr Who have been found in Thailand. Of course rumour at the moment is is that this news will be confirmed on Sunday as it will be the 45th Anniversary of Doctor Who on that day. Lets wait and see.

I did think the line "Are you thick or wot?" or whatever it was wasn't particularly Victorian.
