Help me raise money for charity!

Hey folks, thought I might ask a favor. For the past several years myself and others have participated in an annual Movie Marathon Charity Event to help raise funds for Children's Leukemia. Please donate if you can - even just a few dollars helps.

The event is on August 22nd - 23rd, 2008 so all donations need to be in by then. Donations are done by credit card, but if you only can do Paypal feel free to Paypal me the funds and I will make sure the money gets added into the Charity Fund.

This is a great cause and I'm trying to make them some more money this year by reaching out to my friends here and those that listen to the podcast.

Thanks much Rick! Oh, I'm going to try and discretely take some pictures during the event too. Maybe just cell phone pics since theaters tend to frown on cameras but I'll do what I can.

Donation sent! Good for you for participating in raising money for this cause, Rico. I do have a bit of an issue with the nature of the event and now that I have donated I feel free to comment. :)
I really think that any charity promoting health and wellness, although this is also about research, I understand that, should have the participants doing something to promote health and wellness. That's why I like walk-a-thons or things that are a challenge. Sitting watching movies all day eating gummy bears and sucking on coke? How about a movie marathon in a drive-in and you can't sit down?! There's a cool idea...

Thanks for the donation Bryan. Actually they provide some great food (brought in by nearby restaurant sponsors) - I don't generally eat junk at the movies. Maybe some unbuttered popcorn. And this is a charity to help raise money to fight children's leukemia - not fight obesity or heart disease, etc. I can understand your point but anything to bring in money to help pay for research in this area is a great thing in my opinion. Oh - and I'm just helping out to raise some money and have no control over the event.
