Trek star to get lifetime award 

The award will be presented to Leonard Nimoy in June
Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy will receive a lifetime achievement award at this year's Saturn Awards.

The 78-year-old will be presented with the accolade in recognition of his work as an actor and director.

Nimoy is best known for playing Spock in the original Star Trek for which he earned three Emmy nods for the role.

The 35th Annual Saturn Awards, which are given out by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films, will take place on 24 June.

The academy said he had "established himself as one of the great film and television stars with his performances in Mission Impossible and the original science fiction series of Star Trek".

DreamWorks Animation chief executive Jeffrey Katzenberg will be honoured with the Visionary Award at the ceremony .
