It really is too bad, because the core gameplay is tons of fun.

The plot thickens, some are reporting that EA and Maxis may have been lying about the server needed to do the simulation computations that necessitated the always-online DRM. Stressing the mays here however.

Also: the gameplay may not be quite as good as it first appears...

Another RPS article discussing why the Sims in the game are not very smart and how the Glassbox engine is doing some very peculiar things when you start to pay attention to how it works.

Maybe SimCity needs its own thread!

I'm playing the Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. It's pretty cool, lots of fan service moments like ordering Metroplex around. Gameplay pretty much like the first one.

I'm really looking forward to Injustice, even though I'm not a fighting game fan...it just looks like so much fun. Gonna beat some butts as Superman.

Count me in on Injustice!  Do you play On Xbox live?  the multiplayer could be really fun.  I picked up Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe when it was on sale for five bucks over Xbox Live...flawed but fun game.

Yeah, remember we played some Mass Effect 3 way back when. When this comes out I'm up for playing.

I'm currently focusing my attention on Torchlight II and that's proving to be a lot of fun.

Any Starcraft players here?  Never heard it mentioned and a big new expansion dropped recently. I've been thinking about giving it a try.

I have Starcraft 2, not sure if I'm gonna get the expansion or not, it's been a while since I played it.

I still need to go back and finish the single player from the first game before I hit heart of the swarm.

On a Sci Fi TV note, remember Kerrigan is voiced by Tricia Helfer, Six from BSG.

Never played any of the Starcrafts, with as much as I enjoyed xcom last year I think I should give it a try.

I got Wings of Liberty when it came out (Premium one too, not cheap) but I can't get the expansion right now due to lack of funds. That said, everything I've heard is that you should get it. Few bugs here and there but a successful launch all in all. Unlike a bunch of high profile releases here lately....

I just finally bought Wings of Liberty a week or so ago for only $20.  Need to dig into it.  I've become patient with buying games.  If you wait a bit they drop a lot in price.  I played a pretty good amount of the first Starcraft game so I'm looking forward to getting back into that world.

This is a great strategy, especially lately when game prices sometimes drop as much as 50% in a few short weeks.  I have a hard time waiting with games I'm super excited for.  I'm pretty resigned to being a day one adopter for whatever new consoles release this holiday...saving up now!

I've heard the single player campaign in the original Starcraft 2 and the recent expansion are top notch, which is what's tempting me to try, since I've no interest in the competitive multiplayer scene.

Oh and I just downloaded the new Star Wars Pinball tables for Pinball FX 2 over Xbox Live...man they are so good.  There's three tables for ten bucks, one based on Empire Strikes Back, one on the Clone Wars animated series, and one on Boba Fett.  So far I've been really into the Empire and Boba Fett tables and not as enamored of the Clone wars but they are all fantastic.  The music is incredible, the gameplay intense.  The only little knock is the voice actors imitating the original actors...the voices are extremely repetitive and some of the voices are not very good.  And for some crazy reason, at the begining of most games on the Empire table, there's a Darth Vader voice saying "the Rebellion needs you!" which makes no sense.  But this game is so great...and it's available on PC/Mac, iOS, Xbox, and PS3.
