The anniversary biopic called Adventures in Time and Space written by Mark Gatiss has announced its cast.

In the role of William Hartnell who played the first Dr has gone to Harry Potter actor David Bradley.

In the role of producer Verity Lambert has gone to Jessica Raine

In the role of series creator Sydney Newman goes to Brian Cox

and in the role of  Waris Hussein the director of the first episode of Dr Who goes to Sacha Dhawan.

Below are the photos in order of above. I really am looking forward to seeing the biopic all about the creation of this wonderful tv series.

Oooh, awesome. Is it airing on BBC? Hopefully we will see this on BBCAmerica. I love behind the scenes biopics.

Yup will be airing on the BEEB.  I will be looking closely to make sure they have the right Tardis and not just using the Smith Box.

ChrisMC

Yeah, they can't use the MAtt Smith one, the one back then was GRAY! Duh! ;)

Sooo....with this guy playing Hartnell, wouldn't it be cool if Doc Numero Uno somehow showed up in a multi-Doctor special?

Lol I'm sure you will :-)

Really looking forward to this.

That will be great!  I hope they ritually burn in effigy the guys at the BBC who erased all the tapes .  :)  I know, they were 'just following orders'..

Filming of An Adventure in Time and Space has begun.
Here are some on set photos, the first two you get to see the recreation of the 63 Tardis prop, then the BBC canteen with David Bradley playing Hartnell in the centre.
