I personally don't care about the age of the doctor, I would just like to see more multi part episode that allow things to develop. I also wouldn't mind seeing a kid companion from another world. I'm kind of jaded on female contemporary companions. Give me some aliens again. Even if they are human looking. Also, it's way past time for a long term male companion.

I think christmas is the time of regenerations.

I agree with Chris would be great to have an alien companion or a fella instead of a woman.

Are they changing companions too? I kinda doubt it, it would be very soon. BUT it would be cool to add an alien companion to the mix. Just not  a couple, or someone in love with the Doctor. Kinda had my fill of that in the last few years.

No. I'm in the 'this character is male' club too.

I don't have anything against female Time Lords, I just don't believe that a sex change is available as part of the regeneration process.

Having said that, with other long-term aspects of Doctor Who being quietly re-written, I'm pretty sure we'll get a female Doctor sooner or later.

I also want to see multi-part stories and an older incarnation and the variation in companions that X is suggesting. I've seen press somewhere stating that Clara will remain in the series for at least another year but I'm taking that with a healthy pinch of salt at the moment.

I agree, if only that the Doctor IS male. Changing sex would only be a "shock value" thing, and silly. Have the Time Lords come back and the show could be lousy with Time Ladies.

First person rumored to have been offered the part of the 12th Doc is Rory Kinnear from Skyfall....of course Moffat says they haven't got there yet.
