I'm incredibly happy. Just the right move for the show to move forward.

Can't wait to see what kind of personality the 12th Doctor will have. He's got the right look that's for sure.

Did anyone look at his credits ... kinda told the future:

2013   World War Z   WHO doctor

ChrisMC

Yeah, he was in that installation at the end of the movie.

Still wondering if John Hurt is meant to be the Valeyard...

It will be interesting to see an older Doctor.

You haven't seen classic who, have you? Many of the Doctors have been older. I'm not too familiar with him, I've seen him in a few genre shows, Who and Torchwood included. Even with my limited experience with him, I'm thinking he will be a good choice.

I think he's an excellent choice. I just hope he gets quality scripts to give him the chance to really get into the part.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Apparently.

It makes me laugh to see many people saying 'The Docor ought to be...', following it up with their pet theory. When will they get over re fact that he 'ought' to be whatever the BBC decides. If they want different, go make their own show!

On the other side, I do have some sympathy with the view that suggests the audience is what it is because recent actors have been younger. It may be true, I don't know. Regardless, in terms of what I want to see, this will do nicely. We'll just have to see how it plays out in the medium term.
