I'm also a bit tired with the psychic paper usage, nothing that i get wound up by and the old screwdriver is being over used. Little niggles but nothing new there lol.

Every episode of Doctor Who has used a perception filter in some way. Even the chamilion circuit is has to be some sort of relative to the perception filter. I think pewrception filter is more of a term than a specific tech.

I am wondering if perception filters have something to do with the crack in time and space. Also psychic paper is used quite a bit but its so awesome

I've seen the following image banded about as a screen shot of the crack.....not convinced myself, but could be....

Also included a comparison image of a carefully traced "crack" (I use a larger image of this as my desktop wallpaper now!!

Darkmolerman

I am willing to think that is the crack, but why did the doctor hear a noise at the end of vampires in Venice as it zoomed into the TARDIS lock?

Is this the Who fan thread? I think I'll sign up here! :)
This show certainly is tax money well spent, Britannia, rule the waves! ;)

Well yeah but who doesn't like company. It's about time he has a male companion because he can just be friends. It's weak story telling to have to have a romantic tinge. I'm sure there is more to it but I'm sorry I can't stand easy formula writing. As Kenny said at least with Donna who felt safe there was no sexual chemistry.

I so agree. I've a bit overdosed on Who and the companion loving the doctor became old pretty fast. I was happy when Captain Jack came along, until he started talking about unanswered love with Martha. *sigh*

Bringing the fiancé along is interesting, I hope they do something interesting with the nearly married couple besides her falling in love with Who and breaking up with Rory.

Who does need company, but humans aren't exactly on eye level with him. I thinks it's more like having a cat or a dog, he picks a smart one (think Lassie or Flipper), and offers a nice treat that's bigger on the inside. I don't like that thought, but I think it's pretty accurate.

I do consider making up a drinking game, though the show is too good to be drunk while watching it. But there are some recurring things/themes, like
* the psychic paper
* the sonic screwdriver (might as well drink to the opening credits, is there even one episode without?)
* a being unique/last of its kind (nice parallel to the Doctor, but far too common)
* the final destruction of Daleks/their inevitable reappearance
* a reference to Torchwood
* they are in London (so many places to go...)
* a "zombie" army (every hostile group of former humans counts, possessed, transformed, whatever...)
* army of humanoid commonplace objects (not so common, but we have manikin and weeping angles)
* child scares (cracks in walls, drawn people disappearing, are you my mommy?)
* a companion loves the Doctor

As usual other people on the net had the same idea years before me, so if you want to get wasted:

Lol great post Katrin and looks like I know what game I'm going to playing :)

Recorded my spot on The Doctor Who Podcast earlier on and had great fun talking to Trev and James and I disagreed with near on everything lol. Great guys and I'll put the link up once it's out.

Now back to Rory and how he knows about the Tardis being in another dimension?

Rory resarched about the doctor after the pilot, I guess he went to the site Rose went to

Enjoyed the last episode with the "space vampires."  I'm starting to wonder if the Doctor is somehow pulled towards women about to get married or in a relationship?  Rose, Donna, now Amy.  The only recent one who didn't seem to be attached to someone at the time was Martha Jones.  Anyway, just an observation.  Maybe the good Doctor should be on the next episode of "The Marriage Ref."  ;)

Finally watch the latest Who.. really enjoyed the story and liked the water creatures. Still loving this season.

Well Amys choice was just brilliant. Toby Jones as The Dream Lord was menacing and just dark beyond belief. Excellent acting from everyone and Simon Nyes writing was perfection.

I spent most of this episode slightly puzzled and very frustrated with only one thought running through my mind......there better be a good pay off at the end of this. If there wasn't, I would have hated it.

As it was, I loved this episode...and I've a feeling that this episode is going to be the lead into another fantastic story. Not necessarily next episode...or maybe even this series. But I'm sure that...
....the Dream Lord will make a recurrance. I loved the reflection of him at the end. And the thought of an inner self loathing being thrills me.....even if he isn't as disturbing as Rimmer's self loathing creature in Red Dwarf!! :)
Hi guys. The episode i did with the Doctor Who Podcast lads is out. I chat aling with Trev and James about the Vampires of Venice episode. If you fancy a listen head to http://www.thedoctorwhopodcast.com/ and hive ot a listen, i'm on episode 16.

Darkmolerman

That episode was fantastic few things to bring up
I thought the crystal thing was completly fake, also could the dream lord be "the Valeyard" or I was thinking it was actually the master back in his weird snake form from the movie. Also I was thinking. When the Dream Lord said "In the village that time forgot" do you think that means that the reason why Rory's Name tag said 1994 was because time "Forgot" the village?
