Kenny the title is Death of the Doctor parts 1 and 2 pretty good episodes I say and I'm not really a fan of TSHA but it's a great show for the age range I have to admit.

'Doctor Who' Will Explain River Song
Showrunner also reveals why 'Doctor Who' will never be 'Battlestar Galactica'

"Hello Sweetie ... " may be shrouded in mystery for now, but in Season 6, "Doctor Who" will offer some answers regarding the enigmatic River Song.

The character, played by Alex Kingston, was originally introduced in Season 4, when David Tennant was at the controls of the Tardis, with hints, nudges and winks leading the audience to believe that she would one day become The Doctor's wife. She knew who The Doctor is and, more importantly, who he will one day become.

That teasing has continued in Season 5 with Matt Smith but showrunner Steve Moffat (who also introduced the character in Season 4) has revealed that answers will be given when the series returns for its sixth season.

"You will find out who she is and what's going on and how it all makes sense," he said. "And that will explain a number of things. I'm writing the episode right now where The Doctor finds out who she is. We're not just going to endlessly tease."

So far, we know the character has been convicted of murder, broken out of prison and she certainly knows how to crash a party. That can only mean The Doctor has a thing for bad girls ... something re-affirmed by his adventures with Amy Pond (Karen Gillan).

"I just thought it would be, you know, Bad Girl in the Tardis," Moffat said. "They've always been so well behaved, those girls! I just thought, I haven't met any girls like that. Most of the girls I know would just jump The Doctor as soon as they look at him. I said, 'It's time we have one of those.'"

And, just like Russell T. Davies' era, you can't have a companion without her, well ... companions. But with a larger supporting cast there is always the chance that tragedy will strike and one of those recurring characters will not be returning. Will that happen in "Doctor Who?" Not for the immediate future.

"In the old series, they did off a couple of them," he said. "I'm not saying we'll never do it, but it's not that kind of a show. It's not gritty. It's kind of a lovely, life-affirming, optimistic show without a cynical bone in its body. It's almost odd when you see it in competition with things like 'Battlestar Galactica,' and you think, 'Well that's not us at all.' We're the story of a wonderful man from space who can travel in a telephone box! But I'm not guaranteeing I won't kill someone in the future."

"Doctor Who" returns this Christmas with its special involving Harry Potter's Michael Gambon.

Doctor Who Christmas Special will be broadcast in America on Christmas Day. Awesome news for the US fanbase.

Awesome news!  Looks like it will show on BBC America.  More details I found online...

Just because you're an American doesn't mean you should have to wait for "Doctor Who."

In an effort to stamp out online piracy completely, BBC America says it will air this year's Christmas special the same day actual BBC watchers across the pond get to see it: Christmas Day.

"'Doctor Who' has become a key part of the BBC America schedule, and having the opportunity to air 'A Christmas Carol' on Christmas Day is like receiving our very own holiday gift," said BBC general manager Perry Simon. "The Timelord may travel through time and space, but he's certainly found a home at BBC America."

BBCA experimented with a quick turnaround broadcast last year with both the Christmas and New Year's specials, both of which marked the highly anticipated departure of David Tennant. The move was meant to keep episode downloading to a minimum. Yet, some fans couldn't even wait a couple of days, and piracy still remained higher than BBC would like.

This time, however, there should be almost no need for piracy, allowing Matt Smith's Doctor to be watched on BBC in the United Kingdom, and BBCA for the United States. Showrunner Steven Moffat promises this will be one fans should tune into. Especially since it features Harry Potter star Michael Gambon.

"Oh, we're going for broke with this one," Moffat said in a release. "It's all your favorite movies at once, in an hour, with monsters. And The Doctor. And a honeymoon."

Moffat says that he was "laughing madly" to Christmas songs while writing the episode last April.

"My neighbors loved it so much they all moved away and set up a website demanding my execution," Moffat joked. "But I'm fairly sure they did it ironically."

BBCA made the announcement following Smith's American talk show debut on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" Tuesday night on CBS. Smith is in the United States along with Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill to film what is being described as "Doctor Who's" first episode filmed in the United States. It guest stars Alex Kingston and Mark Sheppard, and will premiere next spring.

The Christmas episode will feature not just Smith and Gambon, but The Doctor's companions Amy Pond (Gillan) and Rory Williams (Darvill). And to celebrate, BBCA will start a "Doctor Who" marathon on Christmas Eve, each episode leading right to the Christmas special.

BBCA also will premiere the "Doctor Who Prom," the live concert that features Smith, Gillan, and Darvill as hosts. Music is performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, which provides the music for the series.

The casting of Mark Sheppard is no small news either. From Firefly to BSG to Warehouse 13 regent in recent years and now to Doctor Who.

Whatever they're filming over there is something I sincerely look forward to seeing (possibly on the same day as a US audience).

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Awesome news about them airing the Xmas special on Xmas over here in the states.

I finished watching the new series a few days ago and I think it's my new favorite series, it was either 1 or 2 of the new series that was, but I think it's better than both anyhow. The new doctor was great all the way through and I really loved Amy as a companion, but Rory was by far my favorite of the new cast. It was such a great series and I can't wait for the Christmas special to see where they go from here.

Welcome to the fun!  :)

I got behind while they were airing so I've been waiting on Netflix, but I'm so glad to be caught up again.

I'm impressed Netflix has the recent season/series up for streaming already.  That's really great and pretty quick!

My listing isn't showing series 5 on streaming. Can you double check that Rico, I want to rewatch it and it would be interesting to see if we have different content based on location.
