I was on The Doctor Who Podcast again the other week did any one hear me?? I was one if the voiced that Trev finds when he's editing a show and picking a sample from every episide. Thats me, Tom, Trev, James and i think Michael.

I also dropped off DWO when Tony left, i'm friends with Jo who does the Flashing Blade but i couldnt stay the course either ( i even asked Jo when we were in the pub why on Earth so many cats were mentioned lol) i do nip in every now and again but now really i listen to The Doctor Who Podcast, Tin Dog and Mondas Podcast ( I just recorded a Jon Pertwee special with Ian last night) its a short but straight to the point podcast.

When we did the TSF podcast i mentioned Tom in it (always give kudos to peoples ideas) when i talked about the Cybership. :)

I didn't catch that you were one of the voices! Lol

Yeah I've tried all the ones you mentioned except Mondas. Might give it a try :)

Karen Gillan wants Doctor Who's Amy Pond to die ... permanently!

In sci-fi, death is merely a temporary inconvenience, where characters reappear after some kind of resurrection/alternate-reality version/time-travel event. Not every actor cares for that. In fact, Karen Gillan, who plays the 11th Doctor's companion Amy Pond on Doctor Who, recently said when Amy dies, she wants her death to be permanent.

Gillan told the Mirror on October 31:

"Death would be an option. I don't want Amy to pop up again every so often, because for me it would take away from the big, emotional goodbye."

Karen reckons the next series could be Amy's last—and she hinted that she could become the first doctor's sidekick to die on screen.

"Once she's gone, she's gone," said Karen. "I want people to remember the Amy Pond era as a good one."

But in an interview two days previous on Graham Norton's Radio 2 show in late October, she spoke about Amy's "inevitable" death at length.

    Norton: Are you leaving?

Gillan: I don't really know what's going on, to be honest. ... The time is going to come when Amy and Rory have to leave. It's inevitable. And that will make me really, really sad. But also that's the nature of the show, and what's so good about it and keeps it exciting is the fact that it's, you know, reinvented all the time with new people. It's a really great part of the show. I will welcome that. I will welcome the new companion with open arms. But I don't know what kind of companion he'd have next."

Norton: If it were left to your own devices, how long would you do things?

Gillan: Oh, I don't know! I can't really answer that. ... I think it's important to go on to other things and establish myself in other ways. But I can't really answer that, because it is partly up to my own devices when I go, so I don't want to give it away.

There you have it. Gillan knows she's going to leave, but she isn't quite sure when. It's hard to have a countdown for her last episode when we don't know when that's going to be, but it's as if Amy is now in Steven Moffat's crosshairs.

So we're wondering ... when Gillan says, "I don't want to give it away," does she mean she knows when she wants to exit the show ... or she knows exactly how Amy will die?

That sounds awesome.....oooh! A "what if" situation has just popped into my head....

Imagine if Rory blames the Doctor for her death and, after his multitude of adventures with the Doctor, has become a fierce warrior who's only intent in revenge on the Doctor.

Imagine a season with Rory as the main villain!!

Well she's got a fact wrong as there has already been a companion die on screen. Adric died in the last episode of Earthshock.

I agree though Ant, it would be awesome if Rory became a villain, imagine if he was The Master all along :)

You "Classic" fans, you make me laugh!! I think she means the new "proper" series of Doctor Who!!

:P

I jest. My memories of classic Who revolve around the 4th and 5th Doctors. But I don't remember any specifics. It's one of those shows I stopped watching in preference of being away from home and out with my mates.

However, I am educating myself by going to the beginning and starting a full watch. Currently up to The Ark (which I mistakenly keep calling the Space Museum!!) Only 6 more Hartnell stories to go. Celestial Toymaker next.

Give a few more years to let you know what I thought of them all!! :)

Meds

LOL yeah i know you jest. I'm going through the Pertwee years at the moment.

Have you ever watched any of the "Loose Cannon" reconstructions? I've been doing those for the missing episodes. Some have been good like Marco Polo and I've really enjoyed them. But others, like The Crusade seemed to drag.

With Troughton coming up, I wonder if I'd be better with the BBC audio versions?

Meds

I know of them. I did a chat with Ian Todd about Loose Cannon and i'm sure we talked about it last weekend. I've not actually watched the reconstructions. I'll have to check it out. I've listened to tons of the audio versions and they are pretty darn good.

ori-STUDFARM

Marco Polo was probably my favourite. I really enjoyed the colourised reconstruction. (I think it was in colour) The only bit that didn't really work for me was the sand storm.

I had to laugh at Cadmium 2's review as they basically said it was awful in the audio only format except for the sand storm which worked really well. Total opposite experience to me watching the reconstruction!! :)

I love this!!! Doctor Who cast and crew are just AWESOME.

Thanks to Tuning into Sci fi TV podcast for introducing this gem to me
