Great Dr. Who pics. I love that the Tardis is a transformer!  ;D

OK; so after finishing seasons 5 & 6,  I've just finished my mission of going back & watching all of the "new" Doctor Who episodes from "Rose" to "The End Of Time, Pt.2".  What an incredibly fun ride!  ;D

It's weird.  I got into the new series with Mat Smith's debut in The Eleventh Hour, and by the end of season 6, I was positive that no other actor could bring as much life to the character.

Going back to the beginning, I found myself growing attached to Eccleston, and really hooked in with Tennant's run.  In fact, by the time I got back to the passing of the torch to Smith with End Of Time Pt. 2, a part of me was screaming "No! Who is this new pretender?!?"  Weird.

Overall, I think each actor has brought his own unique & equally cool twist to the character.  I can't wait to see what's in store for season 7!  ;D

Nice review Eric. Now time for some classic Who starting at Dr number 1

Pyrovile

Eccleston should have gone two more seasons.

I've just downloaded The Celestial Toymaker through to The Tenth Planet which will complete my Hartnell.

Looking forward to Troughton, even if there are so many missing stories....He's the only Doctor I'v not seen a single episode of.....and, from what I hear, he is the best incarnation of the Timelord....

Someday.  I've already seen most of the Tom Baker episodes; those are the ones I was first introduced to back in the day.  Might as well go back to the very beginning.  :)

I've got a quick question:
In The End Of Time, Part 2, one of the two Weeping Angel Timelords seems to have a history with The Doctor.  I'm talking about the woman who briefly appeared to Donna's grandfather on the ship.  Who is she, and what is her connection to The Doctor?

While it was never said outright, RTD has inferred that it's the Doctors Mother.  At Donna's wedding, when Wilf asked the Doctor who that woman was, the Doctor glanced at Donna's mother and then back to Wilf.
I might be wrong here, but wasn't she credited as being so on the end credits?

....Just checked IMDB and she's not credited there as anything other than "The Woman" so I'm pretty sure I'm wrong on that....

Pyrovile

No, I think she was just credited as 'The Woman'

I don't think this is spoilery at all.. but I've been yelled at before so I'm putting in spoiler brackets just to be safe.
Moffat teases Amy and Rory's Who exit (and that new companion!)

Are you excited about the upcoming seventh season of Doctor Who? We know we are. And though we have to wait until the Fall (bummer) to see our beloved Doctor (Matt Smith) again, Steven Moffat has made it his mission to tease us about what's coming up for the Time Lord, including the moment we'll have to say goodbye to The Ponds, and the anticipated arrival of a mysterious new companion.

The seventh season of Doctor Who is set to start filming on February 20th (mark your calendars, set-stalkers) and Steven Moffat is still keeping mum about storyline details. However, he had a somewhat worrying bit to offer about the upcoming departure of current companions Amy and Rory.

"I'm writing that right now, the big Rory and Amy heartbreaking finale,'' Moffat said to The University Observer. ''It will be quite heartbreaking. I think you'll be in trouble watching it."

What in the name of Gallifrey can Steven Moffat mean? Does he mean heart trouble 'cause the buckets of tears some of us are bound to shed (damn you, Moffat) will induce heartbreaking on a massive, medical scale? (Just kidding!)

Moffat also reveals "We just had our official day commencing pre-production on Doctor Who, so as for knowing when it's actually going to be shown is a little bit optimistic. But we'll definitely show it, and I'm pretty sure it will be the autumn."

As for who—or what—will be the Doctor's next companion, Steven Moffat had this to say (he wrote the following bit in the programme to an Australian Doctor Who concert in Melbourne which was staged this past Saturday):

"Doctor Who's 50th anniversary is coming. In Cardiff, we're gearing up for the biggest, the best and the most ambitious season we've ever made. There will be shocks, surprises and heartbreak — the Doctor is about to say goodbye to his very best friends, Amy and Rory.

"And then he's about to say hello to someone very different—the Doctor is going to meet someone very new in the very last place he could ever have expected..."

What do you guys think about Steven Moffat's dastardly teasers?

I think meh.  I think I liked RTD's way better.  Let everyone guess, the more he denied a thing, the more likely it was to be.
I don't know how much more heartbreak I can take after the way Donna left and the loss of Liz and Nick.  We need more happy at this point in the time vortex.[/spolier]

So... The Doctor regenerates into an incarnation that has a limp, a vicodin addiction, and a really crabby attitude?
