Who didn't see this coming? As much as I love this show, the scheduling has been horrible and so sporadic at times that you had to check constantly to see if it was coming back. SyFy killed this show a long time ago and it's just catching up to us now.

Agreed.  I think both Eureka and Warehouse 13 are doomed to die pretty soon.  After that, we need to rename Syfy to WrestlingFy.

Well lets see Eureka and Chuck gone end of this year that leaves me with Warehouse 13 (for however long that lasts), Doctor Who, Fringe and.... well that's pretty much it for my Scifi TV. Maybe I should just give up TV altogether cause there's hardly anything on worth watching anymore when they cancel all the good shows.

"Eureka" and "Warehouse 13" have been pretty much summer series for awhile now.  No big mystery there of where to find them.  The mistake SyFy started to make in my view was splitting up seasons that were already short to start with.  "Eureka" is currently only in the second part of season 4.  They will still have season 5 to air after the run of episodes on right now.  Although with the cancellation announcement they may roll that season out sooner than normal.

As for the future of "Warehouse 13" they are likely to be picked up for another season (number 4).  They have had very good ratings overall during their three seasons (in season 3 right now).

My two favorite shows on tv. CHUCK and Eureka! In that order. They both will be ending so I had already decided that I'm dropping my expensive cable down to basic and this just helps it make it eaiser. It's almost to a point that all my faves are going to be gone. And the upcoming tv sced doesn't impress me much. Well maybe I'll save enough money to buy the Star Wars Blu-ray set.

Now about last night show. My favorite of the season.
Liked that Zoe was back and really liked the part when Allison, when being controlled by Beverly, asked the bad guy if he liked what he saw. I said yes! The bad guy didn't.
Not sure where this season is headed but it sure is fun getting there.

I get so disgusted by networks canceling my favorite shows!  Eureka was pretty clever and a nice combination of tech/sci-fi and character story.  When Chuck ends and Warehouse 13 ends, I guess I will re-evaluate my cable package choices since there won't be much worth watching on network TV.  I will just switch over to NetFlix and Hulu and whatever the networks choose to broadcast over the Internet.....  :wallbash:

I have no plans of ever getting cable because they, the networks, don't appeal to geeks anymore.  Not sure why, but it sure seems to be a trend here as of late.

There's a rumor, maybe more then a rumor that Syfy has added one more episode to Season 5 so they can do a proper finale since they are filming the last episode this Thursday

Scifi holds a special place in the market and we're kinda like a minority in and of ourselves. I actually know a bunch of people who love this stuff who probably wouldn't be considered geeks. I think TV channels moving more towards just reality TV will in the end ruin it all. We need this stuff too or we're gonna have a bunch brain dead idiots who spent to much time watching reality TV and not actually living in reality and not opening their minds to the creative side of it all that Scifi gives us. I hate all this money and ratings crap, it's ruining good TV.

P.S. I just really needed to vent for a second.

While I'll be sad to see "Eureka" end, you guys have to realize things are MUCH better than they used to be for SF on TV.  So many SF series were canned after one short season that I did a whole podcast on the subject.  So, all I can say is enjoy them and support them while they are on the air as much as you can.

P.S. Just to repeat, "Warehouse 13" is alive and well and is close to getting another season approved.

Yeah, I'm with you on this Rico. I understand why we have some people up in arms, but they don't have the same perspective. It hasn't been until the last decade that you'd find more than two or three geek shows on. Most never lasted more than two seasons and we were happy to get them. King, I don't think there was a time that TV ever appealed to the geeks. SciFi was the only one to come close, but became a victim of it's own success. They also haven't changed that much. None of their Original shows made it more than 5 years. Even Farscape was canceled. I think it's because once that mark is hit, you can always show reruns and try to bring out a new show for success. I'm not mad at them for doing what they think they need to do, but I'm also not shocked as some because this is really par for the course.

Have to agree....still....

Besides Big Bang Theory, is there any other SciFi shows going to be on after Chuck is done?

I understand it. But I don't have to like it.

I just think that if you say you are the SciFi Channel, then you better be showing a lot of SciFi.  If I go to the Game Show Network, I expect to see game shows, not Reality shows.

I just want to 'get what I am paying for' in terms of the SyFy Channel.  tt may be true that we have been somewhat spoiled in the last decade or two that we had more SciFi on TV as a result of the popularity of Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5, BSG, and others.

I just feel like SyFy is changing its focus and neglecting its original intended audience.  And that make me upset and quite disappointed.
