I really do recommend it. The entire cast is awesome, and I love Martin Freeman as Watson ROCKS!

Yeah, I like this show, and as a big fan of Sherlock Holmes (loving the Jeremy Brent renditions), I was braced to dislike the new incarnation.  But I loved it, and so did my wife.

As an off topic side note - my 11 year old daughter is getting into Holmes.  She read 'The Red Headed League' on the Kindle Fire last week.  :)

Fantastic story that. The Master Blackmailer is one of my favourites. The Brett years are just awesome and he's my Holmes. We're doing a special on who is the best Holmes so look out for that.

Questions from that story:
"Daddy, what is a pawn broker?" and "Daddy, what is foolscap?"

Pete, the first question is easy to answer: a pawn broker is a sore loser at chess! :)

Pete a pawnbroker is basically a loan dealer who gives you a loan on a item you hand in, you then go back in and pay the money back plus interest and they gove you your item back or you buy it back. Foolscap is a form of paper.

Oh, I knew those terms.  I just loved that she is finding new words and expanding her vocabulary.  My explanation of what a Pawn Broker does ran on for some time - and quickly expanded into the check cashing business - then on to bail bonds - I think she regretted asking..  :)

Meds, I like my definition better! :)
That sounds like a Moyer-esque answer to me...  ;)

This is a fantastic series and the states are poorer for having to see in on Netflix before it airs on BBCA

I thought the US already had a "Sherlock-lite" version of the classic series. Isn't it called "Castle"?

Hmmmm...have to see how this pans out.  I like Johnny Lee Miller, and I like Lucy Liu - not sure about her as Watson.  Trying to stay positive..

Just watched the first series and first episode of the second...WOW it is good.  I have to say anyone that hasn't seen this yet you've GOT to check it out.  And so far the first ep of the second series was by far my favorite.  Can't wait to see what they've done in the next two episodes.

As far as the USA network version...I can't remember ever seeing anything worthwhile on that network, so I imagine that the US series will probably stink.  I'll try to take a page from Pete's book and keep an open mind, though.

Where could someone watch Series One, Episode Two online?  I missed it when it aired the first time.
