I think Moffat is far better at Sherlock than he is with Doctor Who.
Reavers!

Lol it certainly was a mind screw. One of my favourite stories is The Final Problem and Tbe thing to remember Is it's told from Johns point of view, also Holmes arranged the meeting place and what happened to Molly?
Awesome series.

Cheers, that's excellent news to end the weekend on.  :)

It was a great ending.

I had to watch it through a few times to make sure I had not missed anything.

Roll on season 3.

WHAT THE HELL!!!!!

BBC America furious.

BBC America is reportedly "furious" with CBS over the US network's plan to produce a modern-day Sherlock Holmes series.

Elementary - devised by Medium writer Rob Doherty - will transport Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's detective to present-day New York.

BBC America chiefs have labelled the project as a "blatant... copy" of UK drama Sherlock, claims The Mirror.

"We want Sherlock to rate big in the States and this could take the shine off it," an unnamed source apparently told the tabloid.

A 'US TV source' added: "The success of Sherlock in the UK has been major factor of bringing Elementary to life. We believe this modern twist will appeal to viewers. We want fresh American faces in the role."

What the hell? What a insulting idea and a insulting last line! "fresh American faces" try getting a fresh idea.

Annoyed. Damn right I am

Bromptonboy

Hah!  They'll do something silly to appeal to younger demographics - no doubt.  This should light a fire under the BBC to release Sherlock sooner over here.

They should do what they did with Dr Who, get it out there Tbe night after or a on the same day. I also think that statement is patronising to American audiences.

Why don't we all take a breath first. Sherlock is not the first or the last time Sherlock Holmes has been put in an alternate setting. There was a cartoon a few decades ago. Better still, and I love the show, how can BBC call out CBS when they are also stealing ideas? I mean it's not like they invented Sherlock Holmes.

What's happening is nothing at ALL new. One side of the pond gets a show and it either goes into syndication on the other side or they do a remake of it. It happens on both sides and both the BBC and CBS know this.

In the end, it comes to two things. Easy of release and marketability. A new show on CBS will make CBS money and that's what they want. BBCA is worried that it might lessen their money, but I think their biggest issue is this seeming like they aren't standing behind their product.

I love Sherlock and I'm pretty sure that it can stand on it's own merits, but a majority of the US doesn't know about the show and probably isn't searching the interwebs for new brit shows to download and fall in love with each week.

Ok, I started watching season (sorry, SERIES for you Brits) one of Sherlock, got hooked after the second episode, talked Joyce into watching with me, now she's hooked as well! This is really an awesome series. I'll give you Brits one thing...you KNOW how to make a great show! :)
