I loved the scene with Cameron between the trucks.  Very emotional.  I think they are really trying to show John develop into the person and leader he has to become.  He took charge in this episode and I really enjoyed that.  One of my favorites of the series so far.

I guess for me, Cameron telling John she loved him, just seemed to go past how I felt a Terminator would react. Maybe I have to much Arnie on the mind, and just need to get past that cool emotionless Terminator that we have seen in the Movies. I knew at some point that this Love thing between the two would come up, I just did not think it would be so soon, and Cameron being the one to say it. I did see elements of John becoming a leader he is meant to be in this episode, which I liked very much.

I guess as for story wise, I was not expecting more Terminators to start showing up so soon. Not a bad thing, just I guess I was still in last seasons thinking , and had not really considered then expanding the story so much. All in All I am happy with the first epsiode, just surprised a bit.

I think that Cameron's pleading with John while she was pinned between the trucks was a ploy-- She was still in "kill mode" and was playing on his emotions to convince him to let her go.  If he had given in, she would have ended him.

Cameron in her "right mind" wouldn't try to play on John's attraction to her.  Remember what she said to Sarah after John repaired her chip?  Something like "If I go bad again and he tries to spare me, don't let him."

Fox Close To Terminating 'Sarah Connor'

With ratings far below even the network's worst predictions, Fox could pull the plug on production for "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" as early as this week.

The network has been disappointed by "Sarah Connor's" numbers so far this season, and some executives feel that the show is dragging down numbers for "Prison Break," which airs as a lead-out.

"Audiences just aren't responding to the show," a Fox source tells SyFy Portal. "Our biggest surprise are the 18-to-49s [a key advertising demographic], those numbers are in the toilet."

This would be bad news for "Sarah Connor," which had a strong first season despite airing just nine episodes in light of the Writers Guild of America strike. The show debuted at mid-season with an 11.1 rating/16 share -- the highest premiere of any genre show last season -- following an NFL playoff game, but quickly lost a good portion of its audience. By the time it was all said and done, "Sarah Connor" overnights averaged a 5.6/9, half of the premiere audience, with ratings reaching as low as a 4.5/7 at once point.

Getting a 4.5/7 could almost be a lifesaver for "Sarah Connor" right now, as the show hasn't even come close to reaching that number. After four episodes, the highest "Sarah Connor" has reached is a 4.1/6, and is averaging a 3.7. That's 34 percent off its audience average from the previous year.

Audience stability has been slightly better than it was last year following the series premiere spike, but stability so far this year has been slipping for "Sarah Connor." Its Stability Index Rating, as determined by SyFy Portal using a comparison of its season high versus its average overnight rating, gave "Sarah Connor" a 50.5 -- by far the worst of any show last season. This year, however, it's at a much better 90.2 rating, but has been steadily becoming more and more unstable each week.

So what will happen?

"All I can say is that production will likely stop, and I would think that Fox might try to air some of the episodes already in the can," the source said. "But I don't know. They don't want to lose 'Prison Break,' so there could be some schedule shuffling in the future."

Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Fox, so treat this as rumor.

I honestly stopped watching before the last episode from the first season. I never got into any major arc like LOST had that just keeps sucking me in. I made my wife watch it for a while who is a SciFi fan but she gave up earlier than I did. It makes me soo mad that show like Firefly that was FAR superior to this show got cancelled also though :(
Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

That is disappointing, and certainly seems like the writing is on the wall. I hope they try this in a different time slot before giving up on it. I wish when they develop these shows, that they would realise that some of these shows just do better on Cable channels, as they might not appeal to a wide audience, and go the cable route instead of network TV.

I'm with you Jeff.  While FOX has dumped other great shows better than this one, it doesn't make it any easier to take.  As I've said before it's kind of getting to the point of making me not want to start watching anything new.  Oh well.

I think we all predicted this.

About the show from this week-  I thought it was very interesting.  It really brought a lot more insight into Summer's character.  John sure is a moody guy.  Geez.  :)

I have been and always will be, your friend.

Yep - we did.  I was actually somewhat surprised it came back this year.  The show has a tricky thing to pull off since they can't really change things too much from what we know will happen.  Well, it's not officially over yet.  I do hope if that does happen they get a chance to wrap things up a bit.

This whole thing of canceling a show before it hits it's stride is what I was talking about on the Fringe thread when I said we (Tam and I) where very upset with the cancellations from last year acerbated by the writers strike.

You'd think with cable, mobile phone, and sites like Hulu and such the ratings business model would have modified somewhat by now and that there would be more alternatives to cancellation once a show has some sort of audience. Kenny, I'm sure you're able to know more about this business aspect than I. The show did seem to be designed to appeal mostly to a younger audience with a very short attention span.  Maybe if they get Linda Hamilton to do a sister or mother character to Sarah to get some of the early fans back. These are just ideas, I'm not a writer or a studio exec. If there is a actor's strike, I guess it curtains.

Pity.

Yeah, I have noticed this season that John has been more like a teen then he was last year. With meeting that girl, it seems like he has more on his mind then saving humanity.  It is nice to see them expanding the characters a bit more.
I liked that backstory on Cameron as well, certainly adds a lot to her character, and makes what happend in the season opener more interesting to me.

Hopefully this will hold on, or at least like Rico says, at least tie up the story somewhat.

Darkmolerman

Yeah I really hope the season ends and if they finished the season to wrap up the story, and if you watch the Terminator 4 trailer and then look at Bale then look at Dekker ( the current John) they look almost like father and son or older and younger john especially with the current hair...

I think Sarah Connor Chronicles is really doing a good job this season and it must really be leaving an impact on me cause last night I had a dream that I was John Connor. To be honest that was a lot of fun, like the best dream ever, except for the end of humanity thing.

I was listening to the podcast today, and I was reminded of an article that I found the other day.  Apparently Terminator:TSCC has been picked for a full season.  Good news, I think.  :)
