Podcast # 255 – Bionic Guest Cast – 0911.29

This weekend we have a special treat for all of you.  It’s another awesome guest cast, this time with Rick Moyer and Richard Peete covering the bionic TV shows, “The Six Million Dollar Man” and “The Bionic Woman.”  It’s a big treat for me to hear what they have to say since I’m a huge fan of both shows and never missed either one when I was growing up.  They do a great job and I know you’ll all love listening to this special cast.  Here are some podcast notes from them to fill you in:

On this Thanksgiving weekend, we are thanking Rico by giving him the weekend off. So today, Rick Moyer (moyer777 on the forums) and Rick Peete (rickpeete on the forums) will be our guest hosts covering a 1970s classic SciFi series — The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman.  We will be concentrating on the 5-year history of the series, the characters and actors, the various bionic ‘folks’, some interesting trivia, etc.  And of course, we discuss our boyhood memories of the show, reveal our favorite episodes, and share some audio clips.  We also talk a little about the three TV Movies that were made after the series ended.

Several folks contributed their comments as well so we want to recognize and thank Rico, OriStudFarmer, and Meds for sending in audio to help broaden the conversation and add their perspectives and thoughts on the series.

And we want to thank Rico for giving us this chance to ‘geek out’ on all things Bionic.  It is really special that you give your audience/forum members a chance to contribute to the “Treks in SciFi” podcast in such a generous fashion.  Peace and Long Life to you!

Lastly, after publishing the podcast, we found a few places where I misspoke a fact or two (I was really nervous).  So here is my errata:

- Steve Austin’s ‘left’ eye was bionic, not his right (time sync 00:08:30)

- Lindsay Wagner won an Emmy for Best Actress in 1977, not 1997 (time sync 00:59:05)

- Somewhere else there was another reference to a ‘199x’ date that should have been a ‘197x’ date.
