Podcast # 888 – New PC – 2301.08

This week for my first show of the new year I mainly discuss building my new PC. I start with some movie and TV discussion and especially talk about the wonderful “Wednesday” Netflix series. Then I move on to the computer talk.

I’ve built many computers over the years and the last week or so I’ve been working on my latest build. I’m pretty happy with how it’s turning out – and I’m even using Windows 11. Anyway, hope you find this “tech talk” fun to listen to.

Next week I should be back with a new show – or it will be a repeat cast. Until next time take care and enjoy your week.

Podcast # 887 – GoT Music – 2301.01

Happy New Year to all! We have guest host Vartok here to start the mew year with a music filled podcast. Here are some notes from Vartok on his latest guest cast.

The music for the 8-season HBO highly acclaimed Game of Thrones series was composed by Ramin Djawadi (pronounced Java-dee), a composer now in his prime.  The series ran from 2011 to 2019 including 73 episodes.  Djawadi won two Emmys for his compositions and is now composing music to the HBO prequel series House of Dragons.  The series is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, a series of fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin, the first of which is A Game of Thrones.  This podcast presents one or two tracks from each season and includes snippets of interviews with Ramin as available on YouTube.  Enjoy.

Big thanks to Vartok for this great show to start 2023 with. If you want to read Vartok’s extensive script and notes for the show, get this PDF HERE. I’ll be back next week with a show talking about my new PC that I’m building right now and also some recent geek TV and movie talk too. Until next time take care and enjoy the week.

Podcast # 884 – “Galaxy Con – Columbus” – 2212.11

This week I got on Skype with my friend Will to discuss last weekend’s big Galaxy Con, Columbus. Will has been on the podcast before and has been following the TSF podcast for a very long time. I was really happy to be able to finally meet him and his wife in real life! We talk on Skype about the various panels we watched, the celebrity photo op’s and autographs and much more. It was really a star filled con and I’m very glad I went and had a great time. They are doing one next year as well the first weekend in December again at the Columbus Convention Center. Make plans now if you live in the Midwest area to attend. Really a great show! And don’t worry, my video recap podcast will be in 2 weeks as I’m combining it with my holiday vidcast this year. Again, thanks to Will for joining me this week.

Next weekend will be guest host Mark back with a special classic film to review. And I’ll be back in two weeks with that holiday/con vidcast. Until next time, take care.

You can see a ton of pics from the con right HERE.

Podcast # 883 – “World of Warcraft” – 2211.27

This week a show about gaming where I talk about by long time favorite PC game, “World of Warcraft.” I’ve played the game casually since it came out and I am very much looking forward to the new expansion out this week called “Dragonflight.” I talk a bit about movies and TV stuff too on this somewhat shorter than average podcast.

Next weekend I’ll be a Galaxy Con in Columbus, Ohio so there won’t be a podcast but I’ll be back in two weeks with a vidcast all about the con. Until next time stay safe and enjoy your week ahead.

Podcast # 882 – “The Rings of Power” – 2211.20

This week Jen from the Anomaly Podcast joins me for a great chat about “The Rings of Power” TV series. We discuss our “grade-level” of Tolkien knowledge and what we thought of season one of this lavish new fantasy series from Amazon. We also get into an interesting discussion on branding and how some franchises sometimes do right by the “brand” and others maybe not so much. The conversation touches on other topics like “Star Wars” and “The Wheel of time” as well as other things. Had a really great time chatting with Jen and hope everyone enjoys listening too.

Next week I’ll be back with a new podcast with a possible topic of comic book TV shows – still deciding. Take care and Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow American listeners.

Podcast # 881 – PATREON CHAT – 2211.13

This week it’s a fun Patreon supporter chat for the podcast. I’m joined by Rick Moyer, Jedi Jeff, and Quinn this time out. We talk about the recent Trek series like “Lower Decks” and “Prodigy.” We also talk “Andor” and some recent movies as well. Rick’s wife Amy also pops in for a few to discuss her love of Jason Momoa (just kidding – mainly). A very fun chat and thanks to the guys for joining me this week.

Next week might be a guest cast but still working out the details. Until next time take care and enjoy your week ahead.
