Podcast # 856 – DISCO 4 – 2203.20

This week I do a wrap-up discussion for season 4 of “Star Trek: Discovery.” I run down what I thought of the overall story arc and talk about some moments along the way. I also talk a bit about other shows and films I’ve been watching before I get into the Trek talk. Also near the end of the show I talk a bit about the current season of Picard too. Fun show this week to discuss so much Trek!

Next week will be a repeat show or guest cast. Until next time take care and enjoy your week.

Podcast # 855 – Bats, Cats & more – 2203.13

This week it’s another grab bag show where I cover the latest in geek entertainment and news. I talk about what I’ve been watching the last few weeks. I cover my thoughts on “The Batman” and what I think of this latest Bat-film (very slight spoilers). I also talk about the new Netflix film, “The Adam Project” with Ryan Reynolds. And I talk about the recent trailers for the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series and also “Strange New Worlds.” So much nerd content lately it’s harder and harder to keep up with it all. Hope you enjoy my thoughts on all the above. We also have a fun music moment by Vartok in the show too!

That’s it for this week. Next week it will be an almost all-Trek show where I discuss season four of “Discovery” and the new season of “Picard” too. Until then take care and enjoy your week ahead.

Podcast # 854 – “Lost in Space” – 2202.27

This week I’m covering the amazing Netflix version of “Lost in Space.” First up, I talk a bit about the new “Uncharted” movie and other things I’ve been watching on TV as well. Then it’s on to the main topic.

As someone who grew up on reruns of original “Star Trek” and original “Lost in Space” I certainly was excited when Netflix announced they were doing a new series. Now, after three seasons I can firmly say this show is great! Just loved it! I talk about the series premise, the cast, the look and effects and more. Can’t say enough about how great this show is. If you haven’t watched it yet, I hope my podcast will help you decide. Some very slight spoilers as I discuss the show but nothing major.

That’s it for this week. Next weekend I might skip, so I’ll probably talk to you again in two weeks. Take care and stay safe out there.

Podcast # 852 – “Cytonic” – 2202.13

This week it’s a group cast talking all about the fairly new book, “Cytonic” by Brandon Sanderson. I got together last night on Skype with my good friends Jen from the Anomaly Podcast and also Rick Peete too. We had a nice, in-depth discussion on this book which is book three in a four book series call “Skyward.” We’ve all been reading these books as they come out (I think in the audio format for all of us for all the books). All three of us have been enjoying the series and this book is a solid entry in the series. Be warned, there are spoilers in the podcast. Most fairly minor, but I some larger ones near the end of the show. Also, we tangent into talking a bit near the end about adapting books in TV and movies which is a topic that needs it’s own podcast. I really want to thank my guests for this week for joining me for a great show.

Next week will hopefully be a guest cast. Until next time, take care and enjoy the Big Game today if that is something you watch and do.

Podcast # 851 – Low Budget Fantasy Films – 2202.06

This week it’s all about lower budget fantasy films. But first I talk about the recent films and TV that I have been watching. Lots of amazing stuff showing on TV lately, including the latest episode of “The Book of Boba Fett” and many others. Really enjoying what is coming out.

Moving on to the main topic there is a whole sub-genre of fantasy films that have fairly small budgets but are still fun to watch. I run down a few lists I found online and mention a few of my favorites too. Usually these movies don’t have the greatest effects and so on but still can be engaging and good too. Check out a few when you can.

That’s about it for this week. Next week should be a guest cast with Mark hopefully. Until next time stay safe and enjoy your week ahead.

This week I cover a grab bag of various topics on the podcast. First up, I cover all the recent Trek news, including running down the premiere dates and the new “Picard” season 2 trailer. Great time to be a Trekkie!

Then I move into talking about some recent series I’ve finished. Things like “The Expanse”, “Cowboy Bebop”, and “Lost in Space” are just a few of the ones I cover this week. Such a great range of stuff to watch these days there is always something new to talk about.
