Podcast # 231 – “A Night in Sickbay” – 0906.14

This weekend on the podcast I cover an interesting and fun ‘Enterprise’ episode called, “A Night in Sickbay.” The first part of the cast I cover a bit on the Trek film, which continues to pull in a bit more money each week for the studio.  I’d still like to see it one more time before it’s gone for good from theaters.  I also chat a bit about some of the recent collectibles out for the movie and some more to come in the future.  And a few brief thoughts about the next movie and what I’m thinking may happen involving the people working on it.  I also briefly review the “Angels & Demons” movie and a few recent TV shows I’m enjoying.  Not a huge amount of new Sci-Fi news happening right now, but soon new movies and TV series will be out to talk about.

Then I move on to the Enterprise episode.  I play the entire audio from the episode and comment as I watch it again with you.  This episode is from season two of the series and is a good one with some great character moments, especially with Archer and Phlox.  There are also some good moments with T’Pol and Archer as well.  This episode gives us some cool info on Doctor Phlox and also insight into Archer as well as an interesting back story too.  There’s just a lot of great stuff in this story and it’s well acted and performed.  It’s up on the forum in the player for the time being too, if you haven’t seen it in a while.  I hope you enjoyed my comments as well as those from Joe and Eric (thanks guys).

I wrap up the show with a quick review of the new Diamond Select original series Medical Tricorder.  This is a fantastic item and well worth the money for original series and prop fans.  It is a nice, 1:1 scale piece with lights, many sound effects, a spinning moire and also McCoy’s hand scanner too.  It just is really well made and is finally here to enjoy (had many delays).  This item is exclusive to Entertainment Earth and you can still get one, so order yours today.  Click the picture here to see more views of this item in my collection.

That’s it for this week gang.  Next week I will be back with a special show on Fandom and a look at the documentary called “Pegwarmers.” Take care until then and enjoy the nicer weather you hopefully have now.
