Podcast #99: “BLOOD OATH”

This week we are covering a classic DS9 episode. First thing though, I play a promo Kenny made for our Forums. He put together some audio from various forum members and had them mention what they liked about the boards. It’s a great piece of audio and a big thanks go out to Kenny for doing this.

Then I cover a couple of audio calls from listeners. One is recommending Leonard Nimoy’s one-man show touring the country. He talks about Trek and his career. Sounds like a great show! Catch it if you can. The other audio call is in reference to my recent Kirk show. More info on Kirk’s father, George is brought up. Most of this can be found in the very cool novel, “Final Frontier” by Diane Carey. Check it out here.

Then we move into our discussion about the DS9 show, “Blood Oath.” This episode brings back three Klingons that were first seen in TOS.

Lots of great things in this episode. It brings back Kor, Koloth, and Kang from the original Trek series. All these veteran actors are in great form in this episode. It’s a tale of honor, loyalty and sacrifice. Jadzia Dax (Terry Farrell) gets a chance to really shine in this episode as well. We get to see some cool fights and learn about how your past can never be forgotten. I really liked watching this episode again and covering it on the podcast. I finish it up with another audio father/son clip from the Moyer’s. Thanks again Rick and Nathan.

I end the show with a look at the Premium Format Buffy Summers Statue from Sideshow Collectibles. This is a great piece – and it’s big! About 19 inches high! This exclusive edition comes with a miniature replica of the Vampyre book, seen in the show. The statue really captures Buffy’s early look from some of the earlier episodes. The dress is cloth and the overall look of the piece is amazing. It’s a very nice addition to my collection and a real treat for Buffy fans!
