Podcast # 282 – “In the Pale Moonlight” – 1006.06

This week on the podcast I cover a very good episode of Deep Space Nine called, “In the Pale Moonlight.” I also pass on some Trek news stories, play some listener promo’s and comments.  First, I talk about things going on with me a bit and my recent activities.  Then it’s on to the Trek stories such as Patrick Stewart being knighted this past week and a 2 CD set of music from last year’s Trek movie that you can order HERE.  I ordered a set for myself and can’t wait to hear this extended edition.  I also talk a little about TV and the last episode of my favorite fantasy series, “Legend of the Seeker.”  I don’t give away any spoilers but I certainly will miss this show.  Then it’s on to the main part of the podcast and the commentary on the DS9 episode.

The episode, “In the Pale Moonlight” is one of the darkest of any Trek.  It tells the tale of Captain Sisko’s attempts to pull the Romulans into the war with the Dominion.  And he enlists the help of Garak and has to resort to some not so nice ways to get the Romulans on board.  The story is told in a sort of personal log format – and to great effect.  This is a very compelling tale of morality and doing your duty – but at what price?  I really enjoyed watching this one again as I comment on it for all of you.  I hope you enjoy my thoughts and some of the background I pass on.

Later in the podcast I talk a little about my car search too.  I guess that’s about it for this weekend.  Tune in next week when I will be covering “The Big Bang Theory.”  Take care until then.
