Podcast # 290 – “Temple of Doom” – 1008.01

This weekend on the podcast it’s a “really big show.”  I start out with some talk of my recent adventure to the world’s biggest airshow yesterday up in Wisconsin for EAA.  It was incredible.  Tons of planes to see, multiple airshows to watch (including a cool, night air show), and lots of fun!  Next up we have some great Comic Con reports from both Kenny and Mina who were at the recent con.  Thanks so much for sending those in and it was great hearing about your experiences there this year.  Then it’s on to discuss the second Indiana Jones Film.

The ‘Temple of Doom’ is actually a prequel to “Raiders of the Lost Ark.”  We have some new characters to learn about such as Short Round and Willie and some cool new places to see.  This movie is darker than the previous Indy film and has a different tone.  I still find it has a lot of fun stuff and cool sequences.  I try to give you a feel for my views on it and give you some behind the scenes info too.  We also have quite a few listener comments to play this weekend on the podcast – which is great.  I don’t play as many clips from the film this week, but I think most of us know the movie real well so I think that’s ok.  I hope you enjoyed this look at this classic film.

Next week I will be heading home, so the podcast will be turned over to Meds and Company and they will be discussing the latest season of “Doctor Who” with Matt Smith.  I’ll be back in two weeks with a look at the classic TOS episode, “What Are Little Girls Made Of?”  Have fun and stay cool!
