Podcast # 419 – Jerry Goldsmith – 1301.13

This week on the podcast guest host Vartok takes us on another cool musical journey.  This time out he looks at the amazing body or work and career of composer Jerry Goldsmith.  Vartok does another amazing job with this show.  Now, here are a few words from him about his very cool podcast.

Jerry Goldsmith, American Composer and Conductor, live from 1929 to 2004 and was active for over 53 years.  He started out in the Golden Age of television and migrated to feature film scores, although he still composed made for Television scores and provided TV series music during the earlier part of his career.  He is considered to be one of the most influential and accomplished composers for Hollywood films and currently has 250 listings attributed to him in the IMDB.  Jerry also has the distinction of providing the most Star Trek movies scores including five Star Trek feature films.  He has provided Star Trek TV series theme music as well which is recognizable the world over.….
