Podcast # 422 – “Robot Jox” – 1302.03

This week Joe from the “Upper Memory Block Podcast” covers a fun film from 1989 called “Robot Jox.”  This movie involves giant fighting robots – who doesn’t love that?  I’ll let Joe pass on a few words about his guest spot for this week on TSF.

Hey all! Joe aka billybob476 here once again in the guest hosting seat. This time, I’m covering one of my guilty pleasure movies from 1990, Robot Jox.

First though, I cover a few news items:
1. The pending releases of Star Wars episodes 2 and 3 have been indefinitely postponed: http://starwars.com/news/focusing-on-star-wars-episode-vii-lucasfilm-postpones-episodes-ii-and-iii-3d.html
2. The TNG season 3 blu ray set is scheduled to come out in April of this year. Not only that, but it looks like we’ll be getting a standalone feature length edit of The Best of Both Worlds at the same time!
Next I do a review of a really cool album called Smooth Federation by Andrew Allen. It’s a full CD of Trek-inspired jazz tunes. It has cool covers of all the Trek show themes and more. Check it out on iTunes (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/smooth-federation/id539361573), Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Smooth-Federation/dp/B008EIPTT2) or CDBaby (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/andrewallen22)
Finally we get to our talk about Robot Jox. I cover some facts about the movie and get into the, shall we say, mediocre plot. Still it’s a fun ride.
Thanks as always for listening!
Big thanks to Joe for filling in this week on such short notice – I greatly appreciate it!  Make sure to check out Joe’s “Upper Memory Block Podcast” about cool, older computer games – it rocks!  I’ll be back next weekend with a look at the TNG episode, “Elementary, Dear Data.”  Take care until then and enjoy the big game today and your week ahead.
