Podcast # 460 – “Army of Darkness” – 1310.27

This week, it’s a special, scary & spooky Halloween edition of the podcast.  I cover the 1992 cult classic, “Army of Darkness.”  This is a great movie – both scary and funny at the same time.  I also cover the usual news and geek happenings too.  I start the show with a cool, scary intro from Vartok – thanks much for that Mr. V.  Then I move on to cover some Trek news.  Larry Nemecek has a new CD out from his “Trekland” series all about the final episode of TNG and audio discussions with some of the key players at the time.  Get your copy preordered HERE soon.  There are also still rumors swirling of a new Trek series, but I still feel it’s couple years away – at least.  In other geeky news, JJ Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan have taken over script duties from Michael Arndt on Episode 7.  Who knows how long this might delay the film.  I’m still wondering if they can hit a summer, 2015 release date.  Also, there is still some time to order your podcast, TSF polo shirt.  Order deadline is now extended until October 31.  Order yours HERE right now!

The “Army of Darkness” movie is the third in the original “Evil Dead” movie trilogy.  It features Bruce Campbell back as the resourceful Ash once again and takes him to medieval times.  This is a fun, scary, and very cool movie.  Bruce is perfect again as the irreverent Ash character and there is a lot to enjoy about this campy, horror film.  Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell have also recently announced that they are doing a sequel to this movie, so it makes this podcast timing perfect.  One interesting thing about this film is there are two, pretty different endings.  I discuss both of them on the podcast and play quite a few audio clips too.  Hope you enjoy my look at this great movie.

That’s about all for this week gang.  I hope everyone has a great Halloween later this week.  I’m prepping my costume for Austin Comic Con and we are now less than a month away from my big trip there.  Next week, guest hosts Jeff, Bryan, Rick, and Joe will be here to talk all about “Star Wars” Ships in their continuing series covering the ships of Sci-Fi.  Come back then to here all the fun.  Take care and enjoy the fun week ahead!
