Podcast # 485 – Brian Tyler – 1404.27

This week, Vartok is back with another musical podcast.  This time out he covers musical composer Brian Tyler.  I didn’t know his name very well prior to this cast, but I’ve loved his music for a very long time.  Here’s more from Vartok on his new podcast for this week.

Vartok talks about the music of American composer, producer, conductor, and performer Brian Tyler between 1997 and 2013.  Brian has scored over 60 films and yet is only about 41 or 42 years old today, an age when most composers are just starting to get recognition.  He is known for his scores to motion pictures such as Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Eagle Eye, The Expendables franchise, several of the Fast and Furious franchise films, Final Destination 5, Rambo, Battle: Los Angeles, and video games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, & Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.  And in 2013 Brian won Composer of the Year at the Cue Awards, and has been nominated for a 2014 BAFTA Award.  In 2010, Tyler was inducted into the music branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

An amazing amount of music from Brian Tyler and another terrific cast from the music master, Vartok.  Thanks very much to him for putting this show together with very short notice for this week.  Next week I will be back with a look at the Enterprise episode, “Kir’Shara.”  Take care until and enjoy your week ahead.
