This week I’m back with a classic style podcast covering a third season TOS episode. The episode is called “Elaan of Troyius” and is an interesting tale of love and sacrifice aboard the Enterprise with some cool guest stars too. First off, I chat a little about what I have been doing lately and some of the geeky things I have been watching. My movie going has slowed a bit as I’ve been working on my house a lot over the last month of so. I talk about a great new Trek web series called the “Red Shirt Diaries” that everyone should make sure to check out soon. I also mention a cool Trek website with some info and picture of deleted TOS scenes called “Star Trek History” you should check out too. Then it’s on to the main topic for this week.
The episode “Elaan of Troyius” is not the best of Trek but still has some interesting and fun moments in it. The story revolves around Elaan who is to marry a man on a planet they are at war with in order to make peace (sort of a Helen of Troy story). Of course, the Enterprise and her crew become involved and Kirk falls under Elaan’s love spell from her tears. I cover the show with some clips and behind the scenes info too. I enjoyed watching this episode again and hope you liked my coverage of the show.
