Podcast # 752 – CLASSIC TV – 1912.08

This week I do a blast from the past podcast and look at some cult classic genre TV shows from the 70’s and 80’s.  I first talk about some recent TV and movies I’ve been watching, then on to the main topic.  Back in the dark times, mainly before “Star Wars” first hit theaters there was very little genre programming on TV.  We had reruns of Trek of course and the occasional other show but not much at all.  This was before cable, Netflix, and the internet.  I cover several shows I enjoyed back in the day and I think you should seek out.  Things like “The Fantastic Journey” and “The Invisible Man” series (1975 version) and others that paved the way for future genre based TV.  Most of these are out on DVD now (even “Fantastic Journey” which I found on Amazon after recording this podcast).  You can even find clips and episodes on YouTube as well.  So take a look after you listen to the show and check out what genre TV used out be like.

That’s about it for this week.  Next week should be a guest cast and I’ll be back in about two weeks with my annual Christmas vidcast.  Until next time be safe and enjoy your week.
