First, thanks to those that sent in donations this week to help sponsor the podcast. Special thanks to: Rick, Meds, Kenny, Daron, and Joe. And also Rob from Orlando who I missed and forgot to mention on the podcast – sorry about that Rob! If you want to help out, just click HERE to donate or use the links on the main web site. This week on the podcast I cover a very cool two-parter from the fourth season of “Enterprise” called “In a Mirror, Darkly.” This is a Mirror Universe tale and one of the highlights of the series. Download with the link below or check your feeds.
I start out with a bit of news on the Trek movie. There was a recent UK press screening where they showed a rough version of the upcoming full trailer to the film. It’s sounding very good and the people that saw it seem excited by what they were shown. Read more about it all HERE. We also have the second part of Kenny’s “Star Trek: Experience” report. He goes into a lot of nice detail about the last days of the show and some behind the scenes information. Very cool!
Then, we move on to the episode review and commentary. I really like this set of fourth season episodes from “Enterprise.” There is a lot to see and enjoy. First, it’s a Mirror Universe tale and those are always fun and neat to see. In fact, this is the only set of shows that Trek did set only in that universe. Archer and his crew are definitely not the ones we know and some of the cast we don’t usually get to see a lot of (especially Hoshi) get a chance to really show off their stuff and shine. There’s even an alternate Porthos! The second part is maybe even cooler because we get to see the TOS Starship Defiant and a full TOS bridge once again on screen! Lots of little touches to the original series are in these episodes like the Tholians, the Gorn, old props and sets and much more. They really went all out and did a great job on these episodes – even creating a whole new credit and theme music sequence too. I would have loved to have seen them do a follow up if Enterprise had continued. I play quite a few clips and try to pass on some information you might not know about this episode set. The great Memory Alpha Star Trek web site has some cool info on these episodes HERE too. And I wrap up the look at them with a great new song by Rick Moyer about the Mirror Universe. Make sure to visit his special web site HERE and check out all of his great stuff! Thanks much for the song Rick!
No time for any collectible talk this weekend. Make sure to tune in next week for a special podcast covering the “STARGATE” universe of TV series and movies. Until then – take care!
