For today, Vartok is back with another one of his annual end of the year show’s covering some cool music. Here are some words from the man himself on his brand-new guest spot to close out 2025.
“Stranger Things” is a Netflix American science-fiction horror series created and written by identical brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, debuting July 15, 2016, and running through its final season in 2025. It follows a group of kids in 1980s Hawkins, Indiana, who confront government conspiracies and supernatural forces from an alternate dimension called the “Upside Down.” Across five seasons – the story blends childhood friendship, coming-of-age themes, nostalgia, and cosmic horror. Central to the show’s atmospheric tone is the unmistakable synth score by composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of the band Survive, whose music pays homage to 1980s electronic and horror soundtracks and anchors emotional and suspenseful moments throughout the series. Treks in Sci-Fi guest podcaster Vartok provides a 47-minute summary of the music to Seasons 1 through 4 of the Music of Stranger Things providing example tracks and his analysis.
Big thanks as always to Vartok for another great podcast. I love this TV series and the music. Looking forward to the series finale on New Year’s Eve.
That’s all for this week. I’ll be back next weekend with my first show of 2026 as I close in on 1000 podcasts! Until next time Happy New Year to all and stay safe and well.
