Podcast # 844 – “The Time Machine” – 2112.19

This week my man Mark is back with another awesome guest spot. This time he covers the 1960 film called “The Time Machine” – a true Sci-Fi classic. Some words from Mark about this timeless film.

This is Mark Daniels from the Great Pacific Northwest.  I’m back this week with another classic science fiction movie.  Today’s movie is a classic from George Pal.  It’s H. G. Wells’ “The Time Machine” starring Rod Taylor, Alan Young, Yvette Mimieux, Sebastion Cabot, and Whit Bissell.  This the classic time travel story by the grandfather of science fiction, H. G. Wells.  This movie is science fiction at it’s best!  I hope you all enjoy it! I’ll be back soon with another classic science fiction movie. Until then…Everyone have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

This is M-5 signing off…

Big thanks again to Mark for being such a great guest host over the years for the show. Next up will be my annual Christmas vidcast. I’m shooting to get it out on Christmas eve – so a bit early. Hoping to have some more short videos for the show.

That’s it for this time. Everyone stay safe and enjoy the upcoming holidays!!

Podcast # 843 – “VIRTUAL REALITY” – 2112.12

This week’s show is a very cool and fun topic – VIRTUAL REALITY. Mainly in movies and a few other things. First up I talk about the usual stuff such as what I’ve been watching. I’m excited for the next “Spider-Man” movie coming out later this week too! Lots of great new things to watch these days on TV and out at the movies too – much better than last year.

The main topic is virtual reality in films and I run down several of the big franchises in this area and some more obscure movies as well. Things like “Tron” and “The Matrix” are covered and I play trailers for several of these. I do love the idea of getting lost in a VR world and I think this type of movie will be one that will be a regular thing for many years to come.

That’s it for this week. If you want to send in a short, holiday video clip make sure I have them by Dec. 22nd. They can be emailed to me at: treksf@gmail.com. Next week will be a guest cast by Mark. I’ll be back just before Christmas with my annual holiday vidcast. Until next time, take care and enjoy your week.

Podcast # 842 – “Picard – Episode 2” – 2111.28

This week it’s a classic style episode. I start out talking about the recent “Ghostbusters” film (no spoilers). I also share some comments about the recent TV I’m enjoying (so much to watch) and then on move on to the Trek episode.

This week it’s all about the second episode of the “Picard” series called “Maps and Legends.” I play the episode and do a full audio commentary while watching the episode. There is a lot of info packed into this episode and we meet some other characters that are important to the season too. I liked watching this one again while talking about it.

That’s it for this week. Next week will be a repeat episode of a guest. Until next time, stay safe and enjoy your week ahead.

This week classic movie expert Mark is back with a look at another cult classic. Here are some words from the man himself.

Hello Everybody!

This is Mark Daniels from the Great Pacific Northwest.  I’m back this week with another classic science fiction movie.  This week’s movie is the cult classic, The Mole People, starring John Agar, Cynthia Patrick and Alan Napier.  It’s one of those movies that are so bad, they’re good!  Get ready for 77 minutes of pure schlock cinema.  I hope you all enjoy it! Everyone take care and have a Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!!!This is M-5 signing off!!

Big thanks again to Mark for another great show. I’ll be back next weekend with another “Picard” episode commentary and more. Until then, take care and for my USA friends have a great Thanksgiving!!!

Podcast # 840 – TV and Movies – 2111.14

This week I’m back with a casual show. I wanted to talk about current and upcoming TV and movies. I start off by talking about my recent work trip to Las Vegas and the SEMA car show. Then I give my spoiler-free thoughts on “The Eternals” Marvel film just out about a week ago. Then I discuss some of the shows and movies I’ve been watching on TV. And finally I talk about upcoming TV and movies we have to look forward to in the coming months. So much is coming it will be hard to keep up. But it’s definitely a golden era of genre projects to watch at home and at the movies too.

Next week will be a guest cast or a repeat show. I’ll be back in two weeks with a “Picard” episode commentary podcast. Until next time

Vidcast # 839 – “Halloween 2021” – 2110.31

This week I do my annual Halloween vidcast. I have a new ring light and it really helps lighten up my video recording area and I think the show is much improved by that. For Halloween I talk about a few Halloween films and specials I’ve watched lately. I also talk about a few I need to watch too. It was a fun show to record for Halloween today.

I’m taking next week off for my birthday, but I hope everyone stays safe out there and has or had a great Halloween!

Podcast # 838 – “Motor City Comic Con 2021” – 2110.24

This week I discuss a few topics including the Motor City Comic Con 2021 edition that happened last weekend here in the Detroit area. First, I discuss the recent “Dune” movie and my spoiler-free thoughts about it. I talk about a few other movies and TV as well then it’s on to the main topic.

This year’s Motor City Comic Con got delayed from the usual mid-May time frame to all the way to October. My older son and I went on Friday last weekend and had fun. Pretty low-key and not nearly as crowded as usual. I’ll be making a music video soon and putting it up. Good times.

Next weekend my plan is to do a vidcast for Halloween – which is next Sunday. Until next time take care of yourself and enjoy the week ahead.

This was originally recorded back in 2019 for the “Anomaly Podcast” and features me, Jen and Rick Rick Peete giving our comments and thoughts on this book (the first in a trilogy). There are some spoilers in this review, just to let you know. I hope you enjoy this show. I know I had a lot of fun recording it with my friends.

Next week I will be reporting about my trip to Motor City Comic Con 2021 which I just went to a couple days ago (yes, the first con in over 2 years for me). Until next time stay safe and enjoy your week.
