Podcast # 751 – “The Mandalorian” – 1912.01

This week it’s a Skype chat recorded with most of the “Star Wars Stacks Podcast” crew about “The Mandalorian” tv series on Disney+.  It’s me, Joe, Angela and Jen and we cover the first two episodes of this new and first live action “Star Wars” tv series.  It’s a fun chat and there are spoilers of course.  Since this was recorded two more episodes have now aired and at the end of the Skype chat I comment briefly on episodes 3 & 4 too.  Definitely don’t listen to this cast if you haven’t seen the series yet.

I will be back next weekend with a look at some fun 70’s era genre TV series.  Until next time have fun and enjoy your week ahead.

Podcast # 750 – DS9 – “Valiant” – 1911.24

This week a classic style TSF show returns.  I talk a bit about current things like “The Rise of Skywalker” anticipation and “The Mandalorian” and other things in the geek news sphere.  Lots of both “Star Wars” and “Star Trek” to discuss these days.  Then I move on to doing a commentary review of the DS9 episode called “Valiant” from season six.  This is mainly a Jake and Nog story aboard a ship of cadets behind enemy lines.  It’s one of those “Lower Decks” type of stories that I like to see from time to time.

That’s about it for this week.  Next week will be a special Skype chat on “The Mandalorian” with my friends.  Until next time have a nice Thanksgiving week to my listeners in the US and everyone take care.

Podcast # 749 – “Five Million Years to Earth” – 1911.17

This week as I shake off the last remnants of a cold we have Mark sitting in the center seat to review another great, classic film.  Here are some words from Mark about his latest guest cast.

Hello Everybody!

This is Mark Daniels from the Great Pacific Northwest.  I’m back this week with another classic science fiction movie.  Today’s movie is a cult classic from the UK.  It’s “Quatermass and the Pit”, that’s “Five Million Years to Earth” for us in the colonies.  It stars James Donald, Andrew Keir, Hammer’s Scream Queen Barbara Shelley and Julian Glover.  It’s a great movie, even though it scared me to death when I was a kid.  I hope you all enjoy it.

I’ll be back soon with another classic science fiction movie

Until then…
Everyone take care…
This is M-5 signing off…

Thanks Mark for another cool guest show.  I’ll be back next week with a look at the DS9 episode, “Valiant” and much more.  Until next time take care and enjoy your week.

Podcast # 748 – Road Show – 1911.03

A short, in the car podcast this week where I mainly talk about the new film “Terminator: Dark Fate.”  I just saw this movie earlier today and recorded my first impressions right after seeing the movie as I drove away and towards home.  It’s a spoiler free review and I don’t talk about anything beyond what you can see in the trailers.  I’ve been enjoying getting back to these quick in the car shows and I hope you like this format now and then too.  I talk about a few other things I’ve been watching too and things to come as well.  Next week I will be back with a full show as I look at the DS9 episode, “Valiant.”  Until next time take care and enjoy your week ahead.

Vidcast # 747 – HALLOWEEN – 1910.27

This week I do my annual Halloween vidcast.  This time I cover the “Evil Dead” franchise of films and the TV series too.  I always enjoy doing these special shows each year.  And I hope you enjoy watching it too!

Podcast # 746 – Skype Chat with Chris – 1910.13

Chris and I got on Skype this week to talk “Joker” and “El Camino” and more.

I was going to do a retro 80’s show this week about old TV shows, but Chris just saw the “Joker” film a few days ago so we decided to do an impromptu Skype call and talk about the movie.  We do a spoiler filled review and also talk about the “Breaking Bad” Netflix movie called “El Camino” even though it isn’t really a genre film, it’s still really cool.  Then we wrap things up with some “Titans” tv talk and some Trek things too.  Really great chat and thanks to Chris from “Star Wars Stacks” for joining me with little notice.

Next week should be a guest spot and I’ll be back in two weeks with a special Halloween vidcast.  Until next time, have fun and enjoy your week ahead.

Podcast # 745 – NYCC Trailers – 1910.06

I decided I had to do a podcast this weekend to cover all the cool new trailers coming out of NY Comic Con and also cover the new “Joker” movie too.  I give you my thoughts on the trailers for “Discovery” season three, “Picard” and “Lost in Space” season two.  I also give you a nearly spoiler free brief car driving review of the new “Joker” movie too.  A fun, shorter than normal podcast but one I hope all of you enjoy listening to.

Next week I will be back with a trip down memory lane where I will cover some 80’s TV shows.  Until next time enjoy your week and keep smiling!

Podcast # 744 – FALL TV 2019 – 1909.29

This week I cover the fall TV season.  I first start by giving a spoiler free review of “Ad Astra” – the new Brad Pitt space movie that I saw last weekend.  Then I move on to covering the fall TV season.  First I talk about returning shows on the CW and some new ones too.  There are not a ton of new shows in the genre area this year, but that’s ok.  I do cover some of the upcoming streaming service shows as well that will be on TV very soon.  I’m excited by the returning stuff and hopeful for a few of these new series too.

Next week will be a rerun or a guest cast.  Until next time, take care and enjoy your week.
