Some new Trek merchandise can be yours soon – and it’s very cool stuff.  First up, is a Starfleet Academy ring replica based on what has been seen in the JJ Abrams Trek films.  This is a really nice piece and is not too expensive.  You can order one from Entertainment Earth right HERE for your collection or get it direct from QMx who is making it.

A new Trek fan film from the folks over at Farragut Films called “The Price of Anything” has been released.  These guys do a great job on the production and it’s always fun to see stories set in the TOS era aboard another Starship besides the classic Enterprise and with a different crew.  So, check out their website HERE and watch the latest production below.  I think you will get a kick out of it.

The British magazine Empire has a cool new article about “Star Trek Into Darkness” along with some neat new pics.  It looks like the JJ Abrams team has opened the flood gates now and we are getting quite a bit of info on the film.  I’m getting more and more excited by everything I’m reading about and learning for this exciting sounding movie.  There could be some slight spoilers ahead, just so you know.  Nothing major and I think most of it seems very ‘Trek-like’ in description.  Check out the source links below to learn more.

Abrams: He was within Starfleet and has now turned against the organization and is hell-bent on revenge. He’s responsible for a very violent, horrific attack in London and then one in the States. He believes he and others were wronged and is focused on destruction. He’s an incredibly brilliant strategist who is aware of various truths that Kirk is not privy to. Pine: He is Kirk’s shadow of death, his Achilles’ heel. He is just a big mirror reflecting all of Kirk’s insecurities back at him. He is just as intelligent and logical as Spock, but is also one very bad motherf—er. Cumberbatch: He’s sort of superhuman, pretty much unbeatable. Brainy and brawny. He manipulates situations. He’s incarcerated when Kirk is talking to him and yet he still gets Kirk to do his work for him. He pushes him into a corner where the only route to salvation is cooperation. There is a real Hannibal Lector quality to him.

Yesterday, the latest teaser trailer for “Star Trek Into Darkness” was released.  This 2 minute trailer still doesn’t tell us a great deal about next May’s film, but it has some great images and will get you excited for the film.  I’m still trying to figure out what is going on, but it’s still fun to think about all this.  If you want to see this and other trailers all in various sizes and options go HERE and you can see everything so far in one place.  Anyway, enjoy the new trailer!

So, a picture got released this past week of the main villain (at least that’s what we think) from the “Star Trek Into Darkness” movie.  The interesting thing about this picture is he is named John Harrison.  It’s been tossed around that Benedict Cumberbatch (center in the picture) might be playing Khan (or a version of Khan) in the movie.  I guess we will still have to wait a bit monger to find out is this is true.  It’s an interesting picture anyway and fun to ponder more about the movie.

Well, here it is finally!  Our first look at some footage from next May’s upcoming Star Trek film from JJ Abrams and company.  I have to say I’m pretty blown away by this trailer.  I’m still unsure who the villain is or what the real story is but the visuals and feeling from this simple minute or so of footage is incredible.  A couple of versions of this exist right now – the official trailer and a Japanese version.  Make sure to watch both below.  I think this movie is going to be amazing.

We have our first official movie poster for “Star Trek Into Darkness.”  A few days ago this poster showed up online.  It shows the main villain of the film played by Benedict Cumberbatch appearing surrounded by some type of rubble and destruction in what seems to be near London on Earth.  We are getting closer to the trailers (a teaser trailer is coming on Dec. 6th) and other stuff so I think we will soon know what character the villain is going to be.  (I’m personally still thinking he will be Gary Mitchell – but it’s still not certain).  See the poster larger right HERE too.

This past week, Paramount released a brief synopsis of the next Trek film.  This is just a few sentences to whet our appetites as we await the footage and trailer coming in only about two weeks now.  I don’t think this reveals very much and it’s not much of a spoiler or anything but it does make you think about the film and make some guesses on who the bad guy really is going to be.  Remember, it’s been said that the main villain is from established Trek canon – in other words it’s going to be character we have seen before now being played by Benedict Cumberbatch.  But, in any case here is the synopsis for you to ponder:
