Starfleet Museum – website

The excellent website, The Starfleet Museum is celebrating 10 years of being online.  This is an awesome site with a huge range of detailed ship renderings.  Various Starfleet and alien ships are on display in many views and in great views and resolutions.  It’s an excellent resource for role players, writers, and just fans of the more technical aspects of “Star Trek.”  I swing by often just to browse through all the cool drawings (which make excellent wallpapers for you computer desktop too).  So check the site out soon right HERE.

“Star Trek” Lego Ships

There is a great article and website that shows some cool “Star Trek” ships made all out of Lego blocks.  There is a variety of selections in this group from all the various series and Trek shows.  I’m really impressed by the variety and how nice these all look.  There’s even a great on of Spock’s ship from the recent movie.  Definitely go take a look HERE at all the cool Lego stuff!  Enjoy!

Great interview with Scott Bakula

Here’s a great interview with Scott Bakula (Captain Archer) while he has been out promoting his new film with Matt Damon called “The Informant.”  This is a really good interview and they touch on many things such as:  “Quantum Leap”, fans, Trek, Scott’s recent work, and his new upcoming TV series coming in early 2010.  It’s a nice interview with a great actor and truly nice guy.  Glad to see Scott getting some good acting work and hope this trend continues for him.  Take a look at the interview below:

“Star Trek: Confusion”

This is an awesome animated video by the College Humor gang and it contains so many Trek and other Sci-Fi references that I lost count.  A fun little parody of the recent “Star Trek” movie and just a great geek video for all of us to enjoy the inside jokes and references.  Whoever wrote this sketch certainly knows their Sci-Fi and did a great job of tying it all together into a very cool clip.  Very funny stuff!  “Mr Sulu, set course to Tatooine!”

Shatner & Nimoy at Dragoncon Video – 2009

William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy are at Dragoncon this weekend.  There are clips up on Youtube of their very funny talk.  These two are life-long friends and it really shows in these clips.  This is some of the funniest stuff I have seen them both do together.  It’s really great and the next best thing to being at the con.  Well worth watching.  I will post the first couple of clips up here.  There are seven parts in all to this.  You can find the other parts to this and more HERE.  Enjoy the show!

“Mind Meld” Documentary

A fascinating and very informative documentary is now available via iTunes called “Mind Meld.”  Released back in 2001, this is basically a very candid and revealing conversation between William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy.  We of course know them as Kirk and Spock, but these two have been friends off-screen as well since working on the original Trek series back in the 1960’s.  Listen in on details about filming the show and things that each of them have gone through over the years.  So click the iTune link below for your front row seat to this awesome film about two Trek legends.

“Star Trek” – The Motion Comic (video)

This is a very cool, fan-made video of a “Star Trek” comic that does a great job of conveying a story with just comic book style bubbles and music.  The art and look of it is very nice and unique.  The story moves along well and there is the added surprise of the blending in of another famous franchise later on in the video.  Definitely worth watching and certainly took the person that did it a long time put it all together.  Great job and kudos to them!  Watch it here below:

Nicholas Meyer Trek Book is out now

This book looks like a winner.  Nicholas Meyer who is probably best known for directing and helping write, “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” along with work on Trek 4 and back directing Trek 6 has a new book out.  Lots of great info about working on the films and interactions with the studio, actors, and everyone involved with these productions.  It is out now and can be ordered from Amazon.com HERE.  I can’t wait to read this book as it looks to be a great source of information on these films and what went into making them.  A very nice review and more details about the book HERE.
