This week I start with some news from both the worlds of Star Trek and Star Wars. It seems Paramount may want Russell Crowe to play the bad guy in the next Star Trek feature film. This is just an interesting rumor so far, but I’ll keep you posted on any new developments. Also, the folks over at Star Trek New Voyages are getting ready to release their next Trek fan film. This one focuses on Sulu and features George Takei as a guest star. Go learn more about this production and sign up for the streaming video event this coming Thursday, August 23rd HERE.

On the Star Wars/Lucas front. The first volume of the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles is being readied on DVD for release this coming October. This was a great series and makes learning about various periods in history fun! Also, the fan production, “The Force Among Us” is finally coming out on DVD. This looks to be a very cool production and it should do a lot to show Star Wars fans in a new light. Learn more about it HERE.

We also have another cool Sci-Fi classic book review this week by the Duffster. Check his site out over at Read More Sci-Fi.Com. And start reading more! Thanks Duffster!

I am planning on doing another run of T-Shirts fairly soon. Watch the main web page and the forums for details.

The main topic this week is a full commentary for the Deep Space Nine third season episode, “Through the Looking Glass.” This is another neat Mirror Universe story.

This is the second entry in the crossover, Mirror Universe saga that Deep Space Nine explored. The basic premise of this tale is O’Brien kidnapping the regular Sisko and taking him to the Mirror Universe. He wants his help there to stop his wife (the same wife Sisko had die years earlier) from finishing a device that will allow the Alliance to find the rebel Terrans and others. It’s an interesting story and brings back the character of Jennifer Sisko. It’s always fun to see the cast in these alternate versions of their normal selves. I cover the whole episode with a running commentary. It was fun to watch this one again while discussing it for the podcast.

The collectible I look at this week is another Gentle Giant piece. It’s the Animated Blackhole Stormtrooper statue. This is a very neat piece and was limited to only 1000 made. It was exclusive to Gentle Giant Premiere members. I like it quite a bit but the paint job on the base could be a bit cleaner. The statue itself is well done I think. Click the picture below to see more views of it in my collection gallery.

Think that’s all for this time folks. Thanks for tuning in as always. Talk to you again soon.
