This weekend’s podcast is a classic type of TSF show. I review and comment on the fourth season DS9 episode, “To the Death.” I also chat some about “The Phantom Menace” in 3D, recent movie trailers, the TV show “The River” and some Trek news too. Lots of cool entertainment coming this summer and we have gotten to see trailers to just about all the cool new films coming now. Things like “The Avengers” and the new “Amazing Spider-Man” have got me pretty excited. Of course, filming continues on the next Trek movie coming in May of 2013. It seems a long way off and I hope we start learning more about the details of it very soon. I also announce our contest winner this week for those DVD sets from “A&E.” Make sure to listen to see if your name is called if you entered. Then it’s on to the DS9 episode.
The episode “To the Death” is a very Jem’Hadar focused episode. After an attack on DS9, Sisko and the Defiant set off to chase after the perpetrators but find another group of Jem’Hadar that they form an uneasy alliance with to help take down this renegade group. We get to learn a lot about these soldiers of the Founders and it’s a very interesting episode. I like the interplay between the crew and their enemy who have to work together against a common enemy. This actually was the only “Star Trek” episode ever that had to be edited down for violence during the final battle. I hope everyone enjoys my commentary as I play the episode for you.
Towards the end of the podcast I do a quick review of the collector’s edition of the game, “Star Wars: The Old Republic.” There’s a cool Darth Malgus statues, a neat book, music CD, and cool in game items too. It’s a little pricey, but for me it was worth getting. I like the statue quite a bit and the book has some great art in it too. And at the end of the podcast to take us out I play most of a new song by a cool group called Ookla the Mok who perform the song “Welcome to the Con.” You can find this song and others here on CD Baby. I hope you all liked the podcast and will tune in next week when guest host Joe (billybob) will be looking at the animated series, “Battletech.” Take care until then and enjoy your week ahead.
