Podcast # 778 – Mark’s Top Ten 50’s SF Films – 2006.28

This week my main man and regular guest host Mark is back with a round up of his top 10 1950’s era Sci-Fi films. Here are some words from Mark about his latest guest cast.

Hello Everybody!

This is Mark Daniels from the Great Pacific Northwest.  I’m back this week with a countdown of my favorite 1950s Science Fiction Movies.  My list includes movies featuring flying saucers, giant ants and even a plant based alien.  These movies are fun to watch and bring back memories of  Saturday creature features.  I hope you all enjoy it! I’ll be back soon with another classic science fiction movie. Until then, take care of yourselves and stay healthy!

Big thanks to Mark for another great guest spot. Next week I will be back and plan to cover some cult classic films: “Scott Pilgrim vs the World” and the “Kick-Ass” films too. Until next time, take care and stay safe.

  1. Mark, I really enjoyed your top 10 picks for 1950s sci-fi movies. I have listened to all of your classic sci-fi movie reviews and you do a great job. I agree with your picks, and am convinced that #2 This Island Earth deserves that spot because the two movies I have played most is Forbidden Planet and This Island Earth, followed by The Day the Earth Stood Still. I would substitute the #7 and #8 movies with 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, and The Blob because both are so iconic and can be watched over and over.

    thanks.

Thanks Jim! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and The Blob are great movies too! I could watch those two movie today and my list would change. Those movie bring back great memories. I lived for the Saturday afternoons when I was a kid. It was these kinds of movies followed by The Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone that formed my love of all things science fiction. The 1950s was truly the Golden Age of Science Fiction.
