With season one now over, I got together with Chris & Joe on Skype to discuss all of season one of the series. It’s a wild podcast and cover a lot of ground and topics (with spoilers too). What we thought of the series, the characters, the look, the stories, all of it. Simply put we are all pretty pleased and impressed with this most recent “Star Trek” series. Fun concept to discuss this week – alternate or parallel universe. I first cover the recent TV and movies I’ve been watching before hitting the main topic. I have a pretty deep discussion about the concept of alternate or parallel universes. The basic concept which is, what if each decision or choice you make creates an alternate universe that would lead to an infinite number of universe. It’s fun to think about and has been used in SF TV, movies, and books for some time. I’m reading a great book right now called “Dark Matter” by Blake Crouch that is fiction but uses this concept well in the story. I also found a listing on IMDB of various films with this concept and also where time travel is involved sometimes too. Lots of fun stuff to consider and watch.

This week I had a chat with my friend Jen from the Anomaly Podcast and talked all about “Firefly.” We talked about the TV series and our thoughts on that and some of the episodes. Then we talk some about the “Firefly” books Jen has read and the “Firefly” comics I have read and recommend. The main point this week was to share the info about other sources for fun “Firefly” stuff even if the show is gone now. Big thanks to Jen for joining me for this one.

This week we get in the way back machine and I play a repeat of show #17 where I reviewed and discussed “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.” It seemed fitting on the 40th anniversary of this classic film to talk about it – even in repeat form. This week is a bit of a change in my original plans. I look at the season 2 finale of “Star Trek: Picard” and the opening two episodes of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.” First, I cover some other topics like the CW show “purge” some other TV series and some movie talk too. Then on to Trek!

Some slight spoilers in the Trek part of the show this week as I discuss season two of Picard and how things wrapped up. Then I talk about “Strange New Worlds” and how much I’m loving this new Trek series. It’s just fantastic so far – in my informed opinion. That’s about it for this show.

This week it’s a classic style podcast. I start out talking about recent TV I’ve watched and a little on this week’s premiere of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” and then it’s on to the main topic. I do a full episode commentary on the early, 1st season TNG episode titled, “Where No One Has Gone Before.” I think this is a great episode and set up several things that would continued through the series.
