This week our cult classic movie buff Mark returns with his second look at one of the best 1950’s era SF films, “This Island Earth.”  This is a blast of a movie and here are some words from Mark on the subject.

This week it’s back to a classic style podcast with a look at the second season Enterprise episode called, “Cogenitor.”  First up, I give a brief spoiler free review of the new “Black Panther” film that is making a ton of money.  I also talk briefly about “The Shape of Water” movie that I finally saw and my very uninformed Oscar predictions.  I talk a bit more about other recent geeky news and then it’s on to the main topic.

The second season “Cogenitor” episode of Trek seems very timely these days and is a strong episode.  It features the crew meeting up with an alien species that has a third gender and deals with how that gender is treated.  It’s an episode that features Trip quite a bit and is definitely a highlight from season two of the series.  I plan the episode and comment during it for you to listen to.

This week on the podcast guest host Shawn from “The Rusted Robot” podcast takes the center seat to look at the cult classic film from 1987 called “Cherry 2000.”  It’s been quite a long time since I saw this film and Shawn and his cohost talk about, play clips and have a good time with it all.  I do enjoy this post apocalyptic films that were ever present back in the 80’s (for a fun decade people seem to think it wouldn’t last).  Anyway, tune in, sit back and enjoy this cool look at a true cult classic.  Also, make sure to check out The Rusted Robot Podcast where they talk all about geeky topics I’m sure you will enjoy.

This week on the podcast we got on Skype with three Rick’s and a Jen to discuss season one of “Star Trek: Discovery.”  I was joined by my friends Rick Moyer (and his wife Amy), Rick Peete, and Jen from the Anomaly Podcast.  We talked all about the first season of the latest Trek series.  We talked about some of the highlights, our favorite characters and episodes and also we touch on our hopes and thoughts on what might be ahead in season two for this great new Trek show.  It was a fun time as always and I hope everyone enjoys this podcast.  Make sure to check out this series now on CBS All-Access or wherever it happens to be showing in your region of the world.

This week on the podcast I got on Skype with my friend Chris Clemente and we had a good chat about a wide range of topics.  From Conan to Star Trek: Discovery and more.  Chris had the idea for a show where he asks me some questions about my favorite movies, favorite Trek, top 5 lists of things and so on.  I had a lot of fun answering and Chris weighs in with his views as well.  We also talk near the end of the podcast about our predictions for the season final of “Star Trek: Discovery” which airs in a few hours tonight.  It was a fun show and we had a good time recording it.  Next week there will be another Skype chat show where we wrap up the season with talk all about the complete first season of Discovery.  Hope you enjoy the show this week and you can find more shows with Chris over at the excellent “Star Wars Stacks” podcast where they review the latest books out in the “Star Wars” universe.  If you want to support the podcast, head over to Patreon HERE to do that.  Until next time take care and enjoy your week.

This week on the podcast I delve into talking about the latest group of cool, new, Sci-Fi and tech oriented anthology TV series.  I first talk about the new Netflix series, “Altered Carbon” which is also a very tech heavy piece of entertainment.  I also talk about the sweet new film, “Please Stand By” with Dakota Fanning that has a Trek theme as part of it’s story.  Then it’s on to the main topic for this week.

The main series leading this new trend of SF anthology shows is of course, “Black Mirror.”  I talk briefly about each season and a little about several episodes.  Keep in mind I try hard not to spoil anything and just give you a little taste of what the show is about.  Next up I talk about the new series, “Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams” Show which can now be found on Amazon Prime video.  This is another cool anthology series very much like the older shows such as “The Twilight Zone” and “The Outer Limits.”  Then I finish off with a quick look at “Dimension 404” airing on Hulu which is also a terrific little show.  I urge everyone to try these shows out when you can – I think you will enjoy them.

This week it’s a classic type of solo show where I briefly run down each of the first 11 episodes so far aired on “Star Trek: Discovery.”  I first talk about some recent TV and movies I have seen and what I’ve been enjoying in the geek world of entertainment.  Then I dive into Discovery.  I’ve really grown to love and appreciate this newest Trek series and I can’t wait to see what happens in the final four episodes.  I talk a little about all the episodes so far, play some clips and even guess at what might coming up on this cool series.  I’m so happy we have new Trek to talk about and it’s been a great ride so far on Discovery.
