Wizard World Chicago Con

I will be attending the upcoming Wizard World Chicago Con.  Of course, there will also be a ton of “Star Trek” stars and other celebrities too.  It will be happening on August 19 – 22 in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.  This is shaping up to be a great midwest event for us Trekkies and other fans of great entertainment.  Click the banner above to learn more.  Here is a lineup of the Trek stars coming:

TREK FANS BEAMING AS FIVE STARS JOIN CHICAGO COMIC CON

As if having the opportunity to meet William Shatner and Patrick Stewart weren’t enough,
Wizard World Chicago Comic Con today announced the addition of five Star Trek guests,
Avery Brooks, Walter Koenig, Brent Spiner, John De Lancie and Daniel Stewart, to the
event, August 19-22 at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.
Brooks, an actor, jazz musician, opera singer and college professor, is perhaps best known
for his television roles as Benjamin Sisko on “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” Hawk on
“Spenser: For Hire” & its spinoff “A Man Called Hawk,” and his film role in American History X.
Koenig’s professional acting career spans more than forty six years of stage, television and
film work. His wide-ranging roles include everything from a teenage gang leader (“Alfred
Hitchcock Presents”) to a middle-aged Tom Sawyer (“The Boys In Autumn”). He may be best
recognized for his recurring television portrayals both of the hated, intensely driven Alfred
Bester (“Babylon 5”) and the likeable, perpetually cheerful Pavel Chekov (“Star Trek”).
Spiner began his 15-year run (on television for seven seasons and in four feature films)
portraying Lieutenant Commander Data on “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” He reprised his
role in the spin-off films, Star Trek Generations (1994), Star Trek: First Contact (1996), Star
Trek: Insurrection (1998), and Star Trek Nemesis (2002).
De Lancie is best known for his recurring role as Q on the various Star Trek series, and as
Frank Simmons in Stargate SG-1. He was a regular guest star on Star Trek: The Next
Generation as the iconic all-powerful Q. He also holds the distinction of being one of the few
characters to appear in three separate shows in the franchise (as Q; TNG, DS9 and Voyager).
Daniel Stewart appeared as “Young Batai” in “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and has
numerous theatre credits as well as guest spots on “Space: Above and Beyond,” “Law &
Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Without a Trace.”
The five join other notable Star Trek guests who have already committed to Wizard World
Chicago Comic Con, including Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Bobby Clark, Natalija Nogulich, John
Savage and Malachi Throne.
