Podcast # 830 “The Wild Wild West” – 2108.22

This week I cover the classic 1960’s era TV series called “The Wild Wild West.” First, I talk about the recent TV and movies I’ve been watching and my ongoing efforts to set up my new arcade room/space in the Rico Cave.

I’ve talked about “The Wild Wild West” before but this week I spend most of the podcast talking about this gadget filled fun spy western that ran for 4 seasons on CBS. Starring Robert Conrad and Ross Martin I grew up watching reruns of this terrific show. I hope you enjoy hearing the clips and music I play and my comments and background on the series.

Next week will be a guest cast and in two weeks I’ll be back with my LIVE, 16th Anniversary podcast over Labor Day weekend. Until next time take care, get vaccinated and stay well.

Podcast # 829 – “Blade Runner” Repeat – 2108.15

Here’s a repeat podcast from about ten years ago (original podcast was in 2011 on show #335). This repeat is about the first “Blade Runner” movie. There are extra goodies from back then too in this show. Hope you enjoy this blast from the past this week.

Next weekend I’m going to do a podcast on “The Wild Wild West” series from the 1960’s era. That will be a lot of fun! Until next time take care, get vaccinated and enjoy your week.

Podcast # 828 – “Lower Decks” – 2108.08

This week I look back on season one of “Star Trek: Lower Decks” as we get ready for season two later this week. I start off the podcast giving a spoiler free review of two recent films: “Jungle Cruise” and “The Suicide Squad.” You might be surprised by what I have to say about one of these movies. Then I discuss and play some clips from season one of “Lower Decks.” It’s a very fun show and has a lot in it to appeal to the Trek fan. Check it out if you haven’t had chance yet.

Next week will be a repeat show or guest. Take care, get vaccinated if you haven’t and enjoy your week.

Podcast # 825 – Replaced TV Music – 2107.11

A spur of the moment new idea for the show today about the topic of TV music that gets replaced in TV shows later on due to licensing rights. I first give a short spoiler free review of the new “Black Widow” movie that is finally out in the theaters. I talk about some other streaming TV I’ve been watching and some other movie talk too before the main subject.

There is a problem sometimes with the rights to music used in TV shows and it means it gets replaced later. This can really change a show and I try to point out some examples of this trend. I did find a cool website that lists songs used in TV shows HERE, but these do sometimes get replaced for syndication, streaming, etc. It’s an interesting topic. I think newer TV shows are doing better about this than in the past.

Next week will be a guest cast with Mark and in two weeks it will be a Patreon chat. Hope everyone is staying well and getting vaccinated if you can and haven’t yet. Take care and enjoy your week.

Podcast # 824 – “Omega Repeat” – 2107.04

To celebrate the 4th of July (Independence Day in the US) I’m putting out a repeat show I did back in 2016 on the TOS episode, “The Omega Glory.” A perfect episode for today. I briefly talk a little about what I’ve been up to prior to playing the repeat. Full podcast notes for the old show are HERE.

Next week should be a guest podcast and I’ll be back in two weeks with a show about time travel on TV. Until next time, take care and stay safe.

Podcast # 823 – “Context is for Kings” – 2106.27

This week I start off with the usualy catch-up on what I have been watching on TV and what movies I’ve seen (if any). Then I move on to doing a full audio commentary on the third DISCO episode called, “Context is for Kings.” This is really a great episode, it finally introduces us to Discovery and her crew and sets the stage for the rest of season one. I really enjoyed watching this episode again and doing some commentary for all of you. Hope you enjoyed it.

Next week will be some kind of ad-hoc casual July 4th show – maybe a short vidcast even! I’m still planning out the rest of July schedule. Until next time, stay safe, please get vaccinated if you haven’t and enjoy your week.
