Today I celebrated 13 years of doing my Treks in Sci-Fi Podcast.  Little did I know back in 2005 how much this show would become a part of my life, how many cool new folks I would meet online (and in person) because of doing the show.  Mainly it’s been a lot of fun (and a lot of work at times too).  I hope you enjoy watching this live show where I talk about comics, books and cons I’ve been too.  Didn’t have that many tune into the Twitch live stream which is probably due to the holiday weekend here and other things but I still had a fun time doing it.  So, here’s the cast in case you missed it.  Next week will be a guest podcast.  If you want to support the show, go to PATREON to do so.  Thanks and here’s to the next year of the podcast!

This week I did a more casual and shorter podcast just to catch up some recent things.  I talked about a new Comic Con in Michigan that my old son and I attended yesterday.  I also talk about the TV series “12 Monkeys” that just had it’s finale for the series and I talk a bit about other TV and movies too.  And I touch on a few other subjects as well this week such as “World of Warcraft” and some collectible talk too.  Just a fun, casual, grab bag kind of podcast and I hope you enjoy it.

This week on the podcast I got together with my buddy Kenny to talk all about our big adventures this year at San Diego Comic Con.  It was my first time attending this con and Kenny has been many times so you get perspective from each of us on how we approached doing the con and how it all worked out.  I really had a great time and it was fun to talk to Kenny about the experience again that was only a few weeks ago.  We share some con survival tips and advice too for those that might want to attend sometime.  It’s really a unique experience and one every nerd and geek needs to try at least once (or more).  Frankly, I’m already excited to go back next year!  Towards the end of the podcast I announce the winner of the Greg Horn art Picard print and talk about upcoming podcasts a little too.  Big thanks to Kenny for hanging out with me to record this the other night over Skype.  Looking forward to getting back to our Harry Potter shows too.

While I was at San Diego Comic Con Mark jumped in and did another cool guest podcast.  This time it’s a film from 1968 called “The Green Slime.”  Here are some words from Mark on this cult classic.

This week it’s a classic style podcast with a look at a “Deep Space Nine” episode.  I start with a little bit of pre-talk about my upcoming trip out to San Diego Comic Con this coming week.  It’s my first time out to the big MEGA con and I’m trying to prepare myself – to some degree.  I feel like no amount of planning will really prepare me.  I’m excited to be going but also slightly intimidated as well.  But I’ve gone to a lot of cons so I think I’ll be ok.  I’m hoping to meet up with some podcast friends too and others as well.  I also talk a little bit about my recent TV and movie viewing and then it’s on to the Trek commentary.

This week I comment on the DS9 episode, “Civil Defense” from season three.  This is a cool episode that has the station trying to basically kill everyone due to some old computer programs left by the Cardassians.  There is a good use of all of the cast as well as guest stars too.  Fun and cool episode and I comment while playing it all for you guys.
